This adventure book must have taken some creativity to get going. I am not sure I have seen its like in other books or movies. I like the lack of romance in it. The hero, Bob Morane, is selfless and it seems like the only fault he possesses is an itch to put his life in jeopardy.

I am not complaining though, for this makes for a riveting read. The woman for whom Bob risks his life is not young. So there is not romance. There is only altruism. Romance after all is selfish altruism. I will keep reading these books in the Bob Morane series.

And it does not matter in which order to read these books. They are standalones. The character is like Zembla, and I imagine him with Zembla's ridiculous mullet and all. There is little action. But though there is no romance, there is charm in the book.

The book is ridiculously clean, perfect for people of all ages. The book here has minimal violence. Morane is a pacifist. He tries slippery ways after all good possibilities are blocked. Morane is going to be in public domain in a couple of decades. Too bad it won't be widely published as a translation though. I am so glad I can read in French.
