Marked as abandoned because the amount of text is too much for the age group I work with. However, I love the "North American Field Guide" in the back, which compares white-tailed deer, mule deer, elk, moose, and caribou; I could see including those pages in my deer lesson plan. Page 33 includes a photo of deer scat, which I have not found in similar books, and could be used in my lesson plan as well. From what I did read in the book, I appreciate the authors' focus on being kind and considerate to the deer and their environment. For example, readers are reminded not to leave litter. I do wish that page 10 had called the indigenous people "Native Americans" rather than "American Indians".
