One day I’m thriving in a business I built, The next I’m selling my business for the sake of my family. So here I am; the new head of the Italian Mafia. Call it luck or fate but the night I saw my angel changed everything. I kept my distance but I cant seem to help myself. She's mine for the taking and mine to keep.
Angelica
It's all I've ever wanted.
My parents gave up everything so I could follow my dreams. From a small town in Texas to the city that never sleeps. The dream of being a prima ballerina is just the beginning. but I can't seem to shake the feeling of being watched. He’s everywhere and I can't seem to out run him. He calls me his Angel but can an angel survive in darkness?
Out of respect and for the general rule of thumb regarding arcs, since I’ve rated it so low, my review comes after its release. I am still incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have received an ARC even tho it did not have the outcome I had hoped for. So here goes nothing.
Where to begin on this one? Because oh my goodness…Let’s start with the fact that this book was not for me and I didn’t like it.
Giovanni : Italian businessman who becomes the head of the Italian mafia when his uncle dies. He never wanted the position but when duty calls. So he leaves everything he’s built to take his uncle’s place. I wish that wasn’t the plot line or it was done differently because I think it was a waste for his business to be sold when the mafia wasn’t something he wanted to do in the first place. I wish he put up a little more of a fight or a different plot line. Before being thrust into the position, he did not seem like he could be the head of the mafia. Like he didn’t put off that vibe. So consider my surprise when he’s out here torturing so many people for crossing him. Now, great, good for him. But it still doesn’t make sense. The pieces to the puzzle are not fitting.
Angelica : Prima ballerina. That’s really it. That’s all she does. There is no story here. She hangs with her friend Nikita who we barely know because she doesn’t get background information besides this injury she had prior to them becoming friends. Angelica is from texas where her mom, dad, and sister live. She started dance when she was young and that’s all she’s ever done.
Story : the story starts in the prologue which is the night Giovanni is told he is to take over for his uncle. He’s not happy about it so after the dinner he walks it off. As he does, he sees Angelica for the first time. And they make eye contact for a split second and in that second,“something inside [him] awoke. [He] felt a cosmic shift in [his] heart.” In the prologue? Their meeting/introduction couldn’t be held out a little bit longer than the prologue? That’s the end of the prologue and then we move into chapter 1. Months have passed, uncle is dead, he’s the head now, and we’re at the funeral. They head to this restaurant where he sees Angelica again for the first time and now apparently his stalker tendencies kicked into overdrive. Angelica is rude to him for the first time (no idea why tho). Back to stalker tendencies, he leaves roses for her and notes. She is clearly freaked out. I should also mention that Giovanni’s inner monologue says that he’s been jerking himself off from the first moment he laid eyes on her when he doesn’t even know her like…??? He also has his men put cameras in her apartment and then jerks off to her all the time. Now, that in itself, is not an issue I have at all. The issue, is the sudden obsession. It’s so quick it never makes sense so then everything he does never makes sense.
Angelica gives me whiplash. One second she’s afraid of being stalked and the next she’s “falling in love with [her] stalker.” There is no clear transition from fear to lust to love. There’s no inner turmoil for how her body vs her mind are reacting to this man and being stalked. Like you’d think there would be. He says he won’t tell her that he’s the head of the Italian and not 3 pages later, he tells her. Like did we forget?? And when he does, she doesn’t have the reaction you think she should have. She just kinda takes it in stride. Like it’s giving “my man is the head of the mafia. So cute and quirky 🤪.”
You would never guess he’s the head of the Italian mafia just by his behavior lfmao. The things that he says, the things that he does just do not scream “I’m a big bad mafia man”. Which is so contrasting cos he does unalive people. Now, that I’m thinking about it. He’s just not consistent.
There’s one part I think is so funny. And it’s where Angelica is looking at all her friends getting engaged, pregnant, buying their first house. And she says that all these people are taking the steps you should be taking at her age. SHES 22. HAVING A BABY? BUYING A HOUSE??? AT 22? IN THIS ECONOMY??? SIDE EYE. I just couldn’t help but LAUGH. (And laugh because I thought that was just so funny).
There are so many inconsistencies throughout the whole thing I couldn’t keep up. And so many grammatical issues. Now, since I did receive an arc copy this may be fixed by the time of its release.
The pacing of this story was so freaking fast it just did not work. There’s also a ton on unnecessary repetition of words, phrases, facts and I personally hate unnecessary repetition. Why are you going to tell me one thing only to tell me it again a few pages later when it’s already something known to the reader?
I hated the ending. Angelica got herself into the situation she did and then said “I can’t get mad at him for the situation WE’RE in” like no bitch you can’t. You did it to yourself and the consequences were dire and we still have no idea why she did what she did.
So it is safe to say I did not enjoy this book. But that’s life. Like I said, I am still incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have received an ARC.
Mine to Keep is a Stalker Mafia Romance. Giovani is forced to set aside the life he has built for himself when his uncle passes away causing him to pick up the mantle of mafia boss. When he sees Angelica leaving the dance studio he know he must possess her or go mad. Angelica has worked her whole life toward this moment. Prima Ballerena. What she did not plan was to have a stalker. When Angelica finally discovers who her stalker is she knows she is already his.
Plot 3/5

In depth thoughts and feelings on this read below - CAUTION may contain spoilers.
ARC Review Mine to Keep by AK Wear is a Marfia stalker Romance story! Giovanni never wanted to be head of the mafia and never wanted this life, but after his uncle's death was named as his successor. Once he laid eyes on Angelica after getting out of rehearsal, his obsession with her began.
Angelica professional ballet dancer, starts noticing men following, and after meeting Giovanni for the first time; single roses appear all around her.
I loved the plot and the story that A.K. Wear built; however, I missed the character dialog. I wanted Giovanni’s stalking behavior explained more and how he came to act like this. Also, I wanted Angelica to fight him harder and make him work for the love she was already feeling. I wanted more conversations about their feelings and their relationship. With that being said, the book still kept me wanting to read to find out what was going to happen next!
Start to finish this mafia story had me hooked. I loved the dynamic and all the tendencies that occur in this book. I love how the MMC and FMC interact and you see them grow through the story. This book shows possessiveness, as well as some stalker type tendencies which is perfect. It’s a good blend. Seeing the story end on such a happy note too always makes it worth while. Can’t wait for the next one.
Thank you to the author for providing me an E-ARC in exchange for my honest review!
Tropes: Mafia Romance, Age Gap, Dark Romance, "Touch Her & I'll Kill You", Love at First Sight
Kinks: Praise, Choking
TW: Kidnapping, Stalking, Violence, Murder, Mentions of Miscarriage, Torture, Family Loss, Death, Guns
The spice in this book was 5/5, Giovanni praises were EVERYTHING. The obsession and possessive of Giovanni with Angelica had me swooning. This tatted Italian mafia man is everything. 😍 Angelica is his raven-haired, ballet dancing angel that will do anything and kill everyone for her. The chemistry with these two characters was so good. The plot of this book was fast paced and kept me hooked all the way through. This was the authors debut novel, and I absolutely loved it!
This is a must read , mafia , age gap! The whole nine yards and I love how he said I knew I wanted you from he moment I saw you. Possessive much🖤this is for a sure a must read , it was really good! I don’t want to ruin it.
Another stalker romance to add to my collection! I’m a sucker for a good stalker romance and Mine to Keep did not disappoint! Giovanni’s possessiveness and over the top actions were just perfection. Giovanni and Angelica’s chemistry was great. My only nitpick is that the ending felt a bit rushed and I would have liked their relationship more fleshed out on page.
The second Giovanni catches a glimpse of Angelica he is immediately smitten. So smitten that he begins keeping tabs on her, even stalking her himself and breaking into her apartment. Angelica is an upcoming professional ballerina who takes her passion seriously. What is a ballerina to do when the head of the Italian Mafia is stalking you?
I would recommend Mine to Keep to anyone who likes a possessive obsessive MMC that crosses the line to unhealthy. If you like mafia, opposites attract, fast burn, stalking, steam, you’ll love Mine to Keep. This book does contain the standard trigger warnings for mafia romances that include but is not limited to violence, gore, kidnapping, unaliving, illegal activity, etc. Giovanni does cross some lines, if you are not comfortable with an overly protective MMC with stalker tendencies, this book may not be for you. To all the stalker romance lovers, this one is for you.
Warning: Reading this book may make you want to become a ballerina. May make you be suspicious of cameras. May make you more vigilant. May make you want to go on a date with your stalker willingly. May make you fall for a man with stalking tendencies. May make you want a man to love you with his dark depraved heart. Read responsibly.
*I received an Advance Reader Copy for free and I am leaving an honest review of my own volition. All thoughts are my own.*
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC (Advances Readers Copy) and blew though this book in one day. Yes that’s right, ONE DAY! Most mafia romance books dig deep into the mafia part of the story, AK Wear is wonderful in leaving that same old tale told time and again away and focused on the romance. And BOY oh BOY is there a romance!
The spice level is a 5, the story line gets a 4 from me.
TRIGGERS: Kidnapping, Stalking, Somnophilia, Voyeurism, Violence, Murder, Pregnancy, Mentions of Miscarriage, and Family Loss. You’re mental health matters!
Now… onto the good stuff. Off the bat, this world is painted in a beautifully. I had no problem envisioning Giovanni (very Brooklyn Italian) and Angelica (our fair skinned raven haired beauty). The flow of the story went well, some time jumps as expected in an easy romance read. Immediately you get a full face view of how obsessed Giovanni is and how that stalker mode takes over with a hot and heavy scene that gets you nice and warmed up. And don’t worry gals and guys, it continues without much pause in between scenes. You catch glimpses of Giovanni’s brother in this book, I wanted a little more of him especially knowing the next book in this series will focus on him. I can’t wait to hear his side of his brother being the next Mafia boss and not him.
4.5/5 🌟 3.5/5 🌶 This was my very first ARC so I might be a little bias towards it ^^
The story centers Giovanni having to take over his family's business {Mafia} after his uncle died even though he didn't want it our leading lady Angelica is a ballerina dancer and the one who catches Giovannis attention the moment he sees her.
For a debut novel A.K. Wear did a fantastic job with the pacing of the story, the world building as well as writing giving us Gabriel he was such an enjoyable read and I always loved it when he showed up.
While I did love their dynamic I was hoping for Angelica to be more angry or at least a little more weary of Giovanni especially after he admits to everything not to mention she did become a little boring once she found out about him.
I do wish plot wise we got to see more of the mafia side of things while it had its moments I do wish those moments where fleshed out
The same with Angelica for me I wish her character was more three dimensional instead her personality revolving around dancing and being lonely
I will admit what happened to Angelica in then in my honest opinion wish it didn't don't get me wrong I'm a sucker for those endings but I wish it didn't come with Angelica no longer being a dancer as that was her goal her drive
Other than that this was a fantastic read and one I throughly enjoyed I am excited to read more from A.K wear ^^
Violence Stalking Explict Sex Scenes Death Kidnapping Somnophilla Voyeurism Pregnancy Mentions of Miscarriage Family Loss
Giovanni started the Costello Media sing the inheirtance he and his brother wee left after the death of their parents. This has been five years of making a name of themselves. Unfortunately it seems his family legacy was closing in on him because a meeting with his Uncle who wants him and his brother to come back to family business their father left behind. It was a command not their Uncle asking and he has no choice, but to become the next in line as Capo in the organization. While out clearing his head he comes across women that just garners his attention and after he becomes the family head he runs into the same woman again at the resturant. Angelica is a ballet dancer and when she keeps getting roses in places she shouldn't liked her locked apartment while she sleeps...she doesn't know what to do. Giovanni's obsession with Angelica is so much that he can't see that his enemies are paying attention as well.
This is a DARK MAFIA ...morally grey is out the door and straight to crossing the line without looking back. It was a crazy story that crossed a lot of stuff, but at the same time it was a good read. Just not the DARK part is very very much in this story.
This books was good overall. It took a bit to get into but it was so enjoyable and a crazy ride after. I will say that I thought there was going to be way more triggers than there actually was. I think there was one “wtf” moment at like the 30% mark but after that, it was pretty mild.
The spice scenes were good and the overall story was I intriguing. Giovanni’s possessiveness was hot and super enjoyable and Angelica’s thought process was intriguing. It wasn’t what I expected but I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Angelica is a professional ballet dancer and Giovanni is the head of the Italian mafia (a role he was forced into). He sees Angelica one day and his stalkerish behavior starts.
The world building was good, but I wish there was more character development in the story. I wanted to know more about the family, I wanted to see more of the hardships Giovanni was going to have becoming head of the mafia. I also wanted to see Angelica’s growth more and her acceptance of her stalker prolonged a bit more.
But again, I enjoyed this book and I will be checking out Gabriel’s book when it releases! 🖤
A.K. Wear is a new author to me. I enjoyed reading Mine to Keep! This is a dark mafia romance with the MMC stalking the FMC. The story is not quite fast pace and not super slow burn - I like the middle ground.
Giovanni was dedicated! He totally would be a red flag IRL but an awesome book boyfriend. I love his character development from being a CEO of legitimate business (with no mafia ties whatsoever) to becoming the head of the Italian mafia. While he didn't grew up immersed in the mafia world, he was definitely meant for it once he stepped into the world. He is very protective of the ones he love!
Angelica is a ballerina and a sweet person. All she ever wanted was to focus on her career. I enjoyed reading her inner conflicts when it comes to her feelings for Giovanni, the stalker. She couldn't deny her attraction to him even though she seemed skittish/weary of him.
My only 'complaint', if you will, was that we didn't get to see Angelica's family especially how she talked about them and how much she loved them. Other than that, the story was great and had enough spice to it.
New to me author, mafia/stalker romance. Giovanni was basically forced into the position of head of the family when he really wanted nothing to do with the mafia to begin with. Angelica was a ballerina who was just given her first leading role. Giovanni sees her from afar and decides to not approach her because that was the same day that his whole life was changing. Eventually he began to stalk her and even went to far as to break into her apartment when she was sleeping..... he finally gave in and introduced himself, but he didn't hold anything back from her. She asked if he was the one that had been stalking her and he admitted to it. I give this book a 3.5 over all..... I feel like there could have been more angst and suspense pushed into the story. But it was definitely quite spicy! I believe this to be a debut novel so I would totally read the author again because I totally believe in her potential!
I totally loved this book! I can't wait to read more by this author... The story grabbed me from the very beginning and it seemed to progress quickly which always kept my attention, I could not put it down! I loved how descriptive it is, and the dual POV's
Giovanni takes over the family business, becoming the head of the Italian mafia but his stalker tendencies get the best of him when he comes across a ballerina, Angelica, that he falls in love with at first sight. They are from two very different lifestyles but despite everything she ends up being very accepting of him.
I loved Giovanni's possessiveness, and "touch her and die" attitude... not to mention the SPICE...🔥🔥 I feel like I was not let down with this read at all! Perfect mix of spice but with a storyline and HEA 🖤 Can't recommend this enough!!
I was lucky enough to be able to get the ARC of this 🙌🏼
Dark romance, stalker romance, mafia romance. 3 of my favorite types of romance books rolled into one.
And I LOVED it.
Giovanni is the alpha, possessive, touch her and you’ll die type of man that I can’t help but fall in love with. Angelica is his raven-haired, ballet dancing angel. And he will do WHATEVER it takes to have her. A little bit of stalking never hurt anyone. Right? 🫠
The chemistry between them was SO good. And the SPICE 🥵 “That’s it baby. Pray to your god because what I’m about to make you feel is unholy” <———— I had to fan myself.
The plot was fast paced and kept me intrigued and hooked throughout. This is the authors debut novel and i can’t wait for the second book that follows Giovanni’s brother, who we got to meet in this book!
“That’s it baby. Pray to your god, because what i’m about to make you feel is unholy”
I was beyond thankful to be apart of the ARC team and I can not wait for the rest of you to be able to read Giovanni and Angelica’s story March 10th!!
This story had me hooked from the second he saw her through the window. Giovanni knew than he had to have her.
Two people from very different lifestyles… Stalker mafia boss meets ballerina. Angelica knew it was wrong but not an ounce of her was able to say no to him. Giovanni’s obsession for his “angel” is everything!
The way he cares for her after…😉…… and who doesn’t love a man that just the thought of him makes you need to pleasure yourself!
I am looking forward to reading his brothers story next!
Giovanni just took over as the new head of the Italian Mafia and he sets eyes on Angelica a ballerina, he feel an instant connection to her, so he starts to stalk her not wanting anyone to have her but him. Angelica wants nothing more than to be a prima ballerina and get the lead roll in Romeo and Juliet, but she feels like she's being watched.
When Angelica finally meets her stalker Giovanni she feels the connection too and wonders if she can overcome the things he does and if this is more than a one time thing.
This was a good story I would have like a little more dialog between characters and some more conflict between the main characters, but overall a great story.
Angelica and Giovanni 😅 oh boy is he obsessed and dang is it kinda hot I was absolutely enthralled as soon as I picked up this book. I read it in 2 hours because I could not put it down A.K Wear you are an absolute amazing story teller.
*** please make note of the Trigger warnings this book has quite a few*****
“That’s it Baby. Pray to your god, Because what I’m about to make you feel is Unholy” OH MY GOD I was 🥵 reading that and then he goes and takes such good care of her after 😍.
I received this ARC for Free and this is my honest review ❤️ Thank you so much for the chance to read your book!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Although I did enjoy the overall story of Giovanni & Angelica, I found it to be a bit rushed. I thought that Angelica was too forgiving and never seemed the least bit bothered when she discovered Giovannis' involvement with the Mafia.
The spice was good, but sometimes felt like it was forced and used for filler.
These are just my opinions, In no way am I saying this was an "awful" book, just wasn't for me.
If consent was never given, it’s s*xual assault. S*xual assault is not hot, it’s horrific. Dark romance is currently my favorite genre, but there are an appalling number of authors who think that dark romance = a girl falling into Stockholm syndrome with her r@pist/abuser. I was shocked to read that this book had an editor given the quantity of errors. The characters’ inner dialogue and speech patterns are very childlike and absurd for people who are supposedly cunning and successful adults. The only reason it gets 2 stars is because there are even worse books being self published.
I was lucky enough to read the ARC. This is my honest review.
Check trigger warnings!
“If I have to burn this whole world down for her to feel safe with me, I will.”
Giovanni never wanted to be apart of the mafia life but now he’s a capo and things/life have changed. He sees Angelica from across the restaurant he’s at and can’t stop thinking about her which turns into more…
Angelica is a ballerina who’s determined to be prima-ballerina.
This book was good and the spicy scenes are steamy!
Huge thanks to the author for the ARC of Mine to Keep. ❤️
I really enjoyed this book! I already knew going in that I love a stalker romance but this was my first mafia romance. In my opinion, it was a perfect combination of the two. A.K Wear pulls you in immediately with intrigue related to the mafia families involved and with Giovanni’s infatuation with Angelica. There were several times I thought I had the story figured out and I knew where it was going but one small detail would completely change what I was thinking. I can’t wait for book 2!!
He was great I loved how obsessive and possessive he was and all his stalkerish ways. I found her boring once she found out who he was she just don’t care did not make a difference which disappointed me I prefer when a heroine is resistant to her stalker but it almost seemed like she was a lonely girl who felt honored to be stalked and that he was a killer didn’t bother her at all. She was a dancer with not much personality. Hopefully next book heroine is better a sassy spitfire maybe instead of a docile dancer.
This was a fast-paced easy read for me. I felt like it was missing somethings though and at times I felt a little lost with how the scene would jump. As far as debut novels go this wasn't bad. I feel like this author has a ton of potential. I wouldve like more plot to this story and more world building and back ground information on the characters. Over all this was an easy enjoyable read. I would read more form this author, hopefully Gabriels book gives us that little bit of extra this book was lacking. Still a 4 star read though IMO.
This was a really good mafia book. This follows Angelica and Giovanni. Giovanni has just been appointed leader of the mafia for his family and Angelica is an up and coming ballerina. I love books where the FMC are ballerina. This was a great stalker romance. It loved that aspect. The spice was done really well and had several hot scenes. We also got a little suspense with the mafia storyline as well.
OMG!!! This book is a must read! By far the best mafia story I’ve read! The whole time I was reading I fully expected Rio from Good Girls to come and sweep me away. I was on the edge the entire time and I loved it. There was so much suspense and excitement that I flew through it trying to see what happened next. Definitely going to make my top five! Thank you for sending me an ARC! I can’t wait to read more from you!
I received an arc copy of Mine to Keep and it was the first work I’ve read from AK Wear. This is a dark romance that has stalking, mafia, praise/degradation, touch her and you die themes. She is a very detailed writer and you can easily visualize what’s going on in the book. I enjoyed this read and would recommend it! Looking forward to her other work!
Really loved the combination of both the mafia and stalker trope. Spice was great! I wasn't sure I'd enjoy it as much as I did because I know f*ck all about being a ballerina, but it was simple to understand that aspect of Angelica's life. Poor Gio getting thrust into a life he didn't want. But he owned it. Can't wait for book 2!
