About the author

Andy Barker

22 books1 follower
Andy Barker is a retired Navy Lieutenant with 32 years of service spanning roles from Fleet Marine Force Corpsman to Independent Duty Corpsman, supporting special operations, surface and submarine forces, and finally as a Nurse Corps Officer specializing in Emergency and Trauma Care.

His military career took him across the globe and into some of the most demanding environments the Navy has to offer.

A lifelong martial artist with black belts in Judo and Japanese Jujutsu and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Andy has competed internationally and brings the same discipline to his writing that he applied to his medical practice and martial arts training.

Andy's debut military thriller, The Adler Compound, explores the invisible wounds carried by those who serve in the shadows—veterans struggling with PTSD, moral injury, and the weight of duty.

Drawing from his own experiences working alongside special operations forces, he writes about the complexities of sacrifice, the brotherhood forged in combat, and the difficult transition back to civilian life.

When he's not writing, Andy runs the YouTube channel "Outdoor Adventures with Doc," holds an amateur radio license (KF0RDW), and coaches youth baseball. He lives in Missouri with his wife and children, alongside Alma, his 14-year-old Belgian Malinois service dog and retired military working dog.
