In The Adventures of a Modern Day Renaissance Man, Wilson W. Crook, III tells the stories of his extraordinary life, full of travel, experiences and adventure. As he "This is due in large part to two aspects of my life, the first being my career. The company I spent my entire work career with, Mobil and then later, ExxonMobil, afforded me the opportunity to see the world. Being an employee of a large multinational energy company, I was given the opportunity to work first, all across the United States and then, all across the world. In the last third of my career, I was placed in charge of a global group that eventually had responsibilities in 92 countries. During this time I met with eight heads of state and countless ministers and other high ranking government officials. Between the travel and the immersion into so many different cultures, I probably gained the equivalent of another six to eight advanced degrees in the fields of international business, government relations, foreign policy, history, communications, and negotiations, not to mention exposure to cultures and languages on every continent. The other great factor that helped shape my life was the education and love for knowledge given to me by my father. "
