Everyone should own a copy of this book. It details almost every ingredient you could come across upon purchasing a food product. I only gave it 4 stars because for every additive, ingredient, chemical, etc., it is always stating whether or not the USFDA considers it safe or not. and I will not go into detail here on what I think of that agency but I just know that they cannot be trusted. This book could also use a revised updated edition.
