In the tradition of The Alchemist comes an internationally bestselling novel based on the author's own mystical journey to discover the seven secrets to creativity, abundance, healing, and love.
Unsatisfied and unfulfilled by her understanding of life after the death of her father, Michal journeys to Jerusalem to see if the great mystic rabbis hold any answers. What she discovers, and what Patty Harpenau learned, were the seven secret codes to live by.
The Life Codes embodies the mystical essence of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam that have been locked in secret texts and whispered in private ritual only to men of a certain age. Patty Harpenau broke down barriers when she was given these codes, and in this novel based on her own spiritual journey, she shows the process of discovery and how to apply these seven secrets to our lives in order to fulfill our purpose and our potential.
Each of the seven codes is revealed as part of Michal's narrative. Each of the seven chapters ends in questions that help readers integrate the code into their lives and develop their own spiritual paths to peace, creativity, abundance, self-acceptance, love, and happiness. It is a heart-wrenching story of love; of relationships that transcend time, life, and death; and of a woman breaking through barriers to achieve her greatest aspiration.
I found great solace in its pages, and for the most part it was a unique and ever fascinating journey through Patty’s spiritual teachings and how they affected her world and the world at large. The seven codes, blended with the beautiful photography in the book aimed at inspiring and drawing you back into the beauty that we all are, as we are all one, was one of the most enjoyable aspects of the book.
At times I did find it hard to remember everything, all the names and the places, but aside from that the mini exercises meant for self exploration and holding into the heart to breathe life and to change your thoughts were really powerful. You could either read it as a whole, read them in days or read it when you felt you needed. I feel like this book will need a second time around reading because I want to take it all in again. I have taken something’s and written about them, like what my purpose of life is, what love means to me, what is my faith and I greatly enjoyed the experience of delving into those.
I would recommend this book to the open-minded and those willing to take onboard Patty’s journey and hopefully adopt the codes as she has done to live a fulfilled life. I love that she speaks of us all being one, us all being god and that when it’s done we are all the same and when we think we are not that is when limitation occurs. It is rather a spiritual book, but honestly it is not too religious in text it goes outside the box. Pick it up if you can. I would love you hear your thoughts.
I am reading this book for the second time... It had such a profound effect on me the first time I read it last year, and it is even more profound the second time around... This is one of those books that I will read it at least once a year, or more... The words come to life on the pages & it is as though you are living the events with her... I highly recommend it.
