Rachel has always had the ability to predict events before they occur, much to the annoyance of her brother; in Valonia they are both met with the same suspicious stares and whispering. As they tumble head first into a world of sorcery and magic, what secrets does this strange place hold?
It’s all a bit so so and the timing in the book seems off. The climactic act comes 70 pages before the end of the book. There’s too much isn’t it all weird, not enough action and a lot of explanation that doesn’t actually explain anything, and what is explained was obvious quite early on in the book. Also no satisfactory ending. It just ends with a prophecy And nothing has been sorted at all. Plus potatoes in Saxon times, if you’re going to get such a basic fact wrong don’t bother trying to give the book a historical background.
