This textbook provides the knowledge and skills required in an advanced manufacturing environment, which integrates mechanical, electrical, and fluid power systems. The content begins with basic electrical and motor theory, builds on circuit fundamantals, and reinforces comprehension through examples of industrial applications. Emphasis is placed on the development of troubleshooting skills throughout the book.
I had been told I needed the 5th edition of this book for my Motors and Drives class, only to find out, once I'd purchased that edition used for a hefty fee, that I actually needed the 4th edition. Fortunately, I was able to find this edition, also used, for pretty cheap, preventing my head from exploding.
I had no experience with motors and drives and the related technology, so it was with a great deal of relief that I found this book to be informative and straightforward. I had no choice but to take this class to complete my electrical arts coursework and Electrical Motor Controls helped make sense of a plethora of ideas and concepts that, at times, had my head spinning. This was easily the most difficult, complicated course I took and this book helped. It has plenty of good illustrations, tables and diagrams and is fairly easy to understand.
