A one woman play about writing, acting, and getting into Emily Dickinson's dress.'...brave, true, and touching...' from the forward by Margaret Drabble.
I had no business reading this. I've never read Dickinson outside of a highschool textbook. As much as I love poetry, I've never made an attempt to discover her poetry. Now...I might have to. Whatever compelled me to pick up this play was clearly on my side. Maybe I don't hate reading plays. Maybe I just hate Shakespeare plays? I don't know. This type of small contemporary strange modern play is perfect. The script and stage directions give it so much life. I would love to see this performed by someone.
