Birding Lite is a humorous look at birding, or bird watching, written primarily but not solely for beginning birders and others who are merely interested in birds. It describes how to get started in birding and discusses the equipment and techniques that can help a birder see and identify birds. The book contains a number of "Fun Facts" about birds and birding, plus "light-bulb" symbols to identify tips for more advanced birders. There is also a chapter describing other books that may be of assistance for continuing to learn. A unique feature is a chapter on whole-brain theory and how it relates to birding, as well as references to the topic throughout the book.
In his old age, my uncle picked up birding, no doubt to help stave off his approaching decrepitude. He describes some of the things he learned in this book aimed chiefly at beginning birders. It's unpolished and could do with a few more illustrations, but it's got a lot of good information, especially for a self-published book.
