American science education is terrible and school staff such as professors, department chairs and whomever else is responsible for educating students must take all the blame. I don't know what I dislike more, physics or computer science textbooks. I can tell you now, you cannot use these books for learning. I have found articles back to 2011 that some Universities are dropping physics as a major and even chemistry because less than eight people graduate with the degree annually. Now perhaps physics majors are low because everyone wants to be an engineer now, I don't know. But the fact that with thousands of students at a University and if you have dozens of physics professors with advanced degrees and research experience, why can't they get more than eight students to graduate annually? It just shows you that teachers have no idea and no interest in educating students and these textbooks are a result of that. I have often heard teachers say "just read the textbook". Reading it is one thing, understanding the content is another. You will most likely hear in science that it makes you think, Well they don't understand causality since first you must understand and introduction textbooks should be about understanding and teaching concepts, not telling students to think. All this thinking and no understanding leaves jack with a whole lot of thinking. One of my math teachers says "there is no guessing here" meaning you understand what it means or you don't.
