I read this for the wrong reason. I wanted to learn more about CCRM (the crème de la crème of infertility clinics) as I was considering cycling there.
The book is actually a good overall look at causes and treatments for infertility. For me, I was knee deep in treatments by the time I read the book, so it wasn't super useful and I didn't gain any insight on how CCRM worked. But, for somebody who is just beginning to realize that things aren't working out, I think this would be a great resource.
I especially liked the chapter on dealing with nurses. When you're jacked up on hormones, it's hard not to be a raving female dog to anybody and everybody around you, but I found the advice set in this chapter helpful for getting the most out of my doctor visits.
Schoolcraft knows his stuff, as well he should since he is working at the #1 fertility clinic in America. I learned a lot of information and being able to learn about the options available took a load of pressure off of me. This book gives hope and knowledge during a tough time. It covers all of the bases comprehensively, letting you know where the forks in the road are and providing former patients' true stories.
This book was very well written and informative. It answers just about every question you could have about the treatment process and goes into testing and treatment based on the cause of infertility. In my opinion it should be a must read for anyone beginning to go through infertility treatment.
This is a great book for anyone who is struggling to have a baby. It basically talks about taking your fertility into your own hands. I highly recommend it!!!
This book is very helpful to someone who is just starting their infertility journey. After going through infertility for the last several years, I didn't find very much 'new' information here.
