Someone murdered a university student. They found him lying in his bed. Dead. His head smashed by a cricket bat. The local police arrest another student, claiming it was a case of jealous rage over the affections of a beautiful girl. The arrested student’s formidable mother demands Sherlock Holmes prove her son’s innocence. Holmes investigates and deduces that several people had reason to commit murder. At least one want top kill him too. This new mystery is a tribute to the original Sherlock Holmes story, The Adventure of the Blanched Soldier. Like that story, it is told directly by Sherlock Holmes himself. If pre-ordered before the end of January, it comes at a discount and with a bonus book. So, order it now and enjoy MORE SHERLOCK.
Craig Stephen Copland has now finished his goal of writing Sherlock Holmes stories. Number #56 is the last installment. This particular story is a psychological thriller. It is unique in that the point of view is from Holmes rather than Watson. Can you guess the villain? This is what I like Sherlock Holmes. Enjoy!
This should be a 3.5 and I graded up as the ending was most satisfactory after going through the rest of the book. I particularly was not fond of the overbearing mother who became a caricature as she left reason for emotion and power. The student also seemed quite clueless.
