This is actually an Edith Nesbit short story collection. Robb was the illustrator.

Billy the King - 2/5
The Charmed Life of Princess and Lift-man - 2/5
Billy and William - 1/5
Melisande - 3/5
The Town in the Library - 2/5
Belinda and Bellamant - 5/5 This was an absolute delight. A fun and engaging twist on cursed royal children.
The White Horse - 2/5
Fortunatus Rex & Co - 2/5
Last of the Dragons - 4/5 a rather sweet and interesting twist on the whole "slay a dragon, win the princess" trope.

Each story had an introduction, and they were very interesting.
