A systematic overview of the collection of the Uffizi, lavishly illustrated. Of course, seeing all this in just one volume is awesome, giving a good view on late medieval and renaissance art. It's good as a catalogue, not as a real in-depth introduction.

Awesome book! Really great information about all the amazing artwork housed in these two museums. When you visit the Pitti Palace, you can't believe that all of this famous artwork, studied in humanities classes and in books, exist in this musty palace! You can really get right up to the paintings at the Pitti. The information on the Uffizi is amazing as well! I love the Botticelli on the cover. The Botticellis absolutely took my breath away with their beauty and gigantic size!

Organized the same way the museums are - high quality photo reproduction; next best thing to being there
