17 booksHartwell developed a talent for weaving together intriguing plots very early in his life. This is evident in one of his compositions, written in pre-primary school, which was selected for publication in the school’s yearbook. Throughout his school years, his skill with the English language regularly earned him exemplary grades and awards. On leaving school, he considered pursuing a career as an author but chose a career in the corporate world instead.
Later in his life, he decided to pursue creative writing as a hobby and trained himself to touch-type in order to write more efficiently. Nevertheless, the limitations of traditional print publishing dissuaded him from writing a novel and submitting it for publication.
The advent of eBooks and print-on-demand removed these restrictions and prompted Hartwell to pursue his interest once more.
