"Keeping First Things First" is a beautiful book that reads like a personal letter from a friend. "Keeping First Things First" is a bestseller filled with anecdotes and reflections that bring out the best in all of us and help readers focus on enjoying life one day at a time. It's a warm companion on good days and bad days, and a gift of enduring love.
I BELIEVE MY MOM MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN THIS BOOK FOR US AND HAD IT SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR BACK IN 1991. CERTAINLY, HE IS AN INTERESTING AND CREATIVE AUTHOR BASED ON THE SMALL SAMPLE WE ARE GIVEN IN THIS BOOK. I LIKE THIS ONE PHRASE: "WE ARE MOST RIDICULOUS WHEN WE TAKE OURSELVES MOST SERIOUSLY." I DON'T KNOW WHO WILL END UP INHERITING THIS SIGNED BOOK BY A SOMEWHAT OBSCURE AUTHOR, BUT IT IS WORTH SOMETHING AND SHOULD BE PASSED ON TO ENJOY SOME DAY.
This is a gentle, inspiring read about life. The author is a Christian who is sharing what he has learned in life and from others that he believes can be of value to others. There are some fine quotes in the book, including these:
"We are most ridiculous when we take ourselves most seriously."
"The more words the less substance: those who talk much say little."
"Love is a flower that blooms only in the soil of sacrifice. Where there is no sacrifice, there is no love."
