This is an old textbook of mine that is an anthology for first-year college students. It can help students understand what a liberal education can mean to them. Education in the arts, science, society, and philosophy are overlooked nowadays. Too many college students consider education as just a means to get a well-paying job. Many people who graduate from college lack the value of a classic education. There are many questions that a liberal education can answer with regard to how people, and the world in general, behave. A collection of essays, some better than others, but all worth pondering.
