lol there's a reason this one's not nearly as known and performed as it's predecessor. Hot damn what a mess! The residents all forget Ethel, she returns penniless after her greedy stepkids get the money AFTER VTHE ENTIRE FIRST PLAY HAPPENED. Jeff and Miss Willie get a one-line erasure. The new nurse is useless (but pretty!). There are two hobo hippies who hold the place hostage that I totally visualized as Honey Bunny and Pumpkin from Pulp Fiction. Half of the residents spent the play fixated on a childrens' sex ed book. There's a weird antiabortion message at the end that comes out of nowhere.

Just, pretend this one doesn't exist. There is no sequel in Ba Sing Se.

Pretty awful "Sequel" to The Curious Savage. We just finished our run of Curious Savage last night and I was curious (ba bum bum) about this sequel. DON'T READ IT. It's awful. It's best moments are just replays of the original, and the new material is hopeless. It's shallow and has nothing new to say. The update (it was written in the 1970s) includes "hippy" characters who are absolutely the wrong form of "beat" and totally unbelievable. The end is pretty much a reversal of everything before it and Mrs. Savage's return to the Cloisters invalidates the ending of the original play, so...pretty sad actually.
