I spent a considerable part of my youth reading about the campaigns of military generals and learned much about the many aspects of war. Here the thoughts on all the topics of war are succinctly quoted about by the generals and well collected and organized for consumption and reflection. This is a treasure and a wonderful condensation of all that I learned all those years ago.

Most quotations selected by the author for this book failed to inspire... Thankfully, there is the odd citation which is profound and thought provoking.
