Since when do writers get their faces on dollar bills? Benjamin Franklin was never president. But he was famous for his writing. He even helped write the Declaration of Independence. Read more about his exciting life.
I read the book, "Benjamin Franklin: Writer, Inventor, Statesman" by Pamela Hill Nettleton. I really liked this book because Primary children could really grasp the historic facts that were presented. The facts were very basic and blunt but it was the best way to get the points across to the children. This book told the whole story of Ben Franklin from birth to death. I think children would be amazed that people a hundred years before them had nothing that they have now. It would open the eyes of Primary children to realize that the world is evolving each and every day. They may not fully understand the scientific concepts behind electricity or a printer press but this book will get the children's minds thinking about what the world was like for people long ago. The illustrations were amazing. They really helped the text come alive. It painted a very nice and elborate picture for the children.
