This is the seventh volume of the ongoing complete edition and the third dedicated to the letters and poems of the earliest period of the academy. The new volume collects 62 letters and 35 supplementary documents, among them poems, prefaces, vitae, historical accounts, diary entries, etc. The Fruchtbringende Gesellschaft was closely associated with two orders of noble ladies, i.e., Tugendliche Gesellschaft and Acadèmie des Loyales. Hence, many poems and devices of these organizations are included as well. Since the Fruchtbringende Gesellschaft promoted the use of the German vernacular in poetry and prose during the Thirty Years' War, the materials published in this volume also include documents of general political and religious interest. As in previous volumes, the unknown manuscripts, rare printed texts, and key illustrations are accompanied by rich commentaries and several indexes.
