Sets, Functions and Numbers introduces the reader to the notions of set theory, and to the number systems Z Q R C consisting respectively of integers, rational numbers, real numbers and complex numbers. Also included are the standard inequalities, and a brief study of the theory of equations.
There are no prerequisites other than bionomical coefficients and a few results from trigonometry. All the methods given in the text are explained with the help of solved examples. A large number of unsolved exercises have also been provided on each topic.
