carla mcbride returns in book 2 with her loveable hotheaded and witty personality. the book is highly intense right off the bat and does a great job of grabbing your interest from page 1.
from my own experience as a reader, it is very difficult for a thriller to be fast paced without skipping past key plot points or important details. this book has created the perfect balance of both; it is a quick page turner that also succeeds in maintaining the integrity of the storyline.
this is a book that made me very anxious (in a good way). highly suspenseful and i could not wait to see what was going to happen next. the plot in this book is very complex so be sure to pay attention to small details, as it can be foreshadowing for later.
as the second book in the series i felt it was well polished, and flowed nicely from one part to the next. ties up loose ends cleanly at the end. overall satisfied with the ending and there are unexpected twists up until the conclusion.
under normal circumstances, i can review only the book. however, i am able to provide insight on the author in this case! nick is a very humble and genuine person who goes above and beyond to form friendships with his readers. not only did he autograph my copy of this book, he wrote me a personalized message, and included a thank you card with 5 awesome bookmarks along with my package (the bookmarks are signed as well)! i can tell he is very passionate and dedicated to his writing and i will continue to support his work!
