Infected

Rate this book
In the beginning, the amputated limbs of the deceased from the cemetery gave the first clue, when they began to move. Further, Father Martín was caught red-handed lifting a deceased person from his coffin who was coming to life, and the infection was unleashed like an electric current discharge in much of the city of Águilas. A whole maelstrom of zombies occupied several downtown streets while a group of tourists, led by two brothers-in-law who hated each other, are trapped in the castle, which hides a secret.

Ever since the Castle was built in Aguilas in century XI by King Hins A-Akila, to protect his kingdom from Al-Adalus, he had to create his first zombie army already. Sebastian, who waits secluded in the Castle’s shelter along his only friend, Alvaro, and being a survivor of the zombie infection in Aguilas in 2017, begins to write a manuscript where he will narrate everything that happened since Hins, Arab king, wrote the first word in his diaries. From the Medieval Era, with the Visigoths and Byzantines, the Arabian reign of Al-Andalus Epoch and the confrontations with the Almoravides, the Christians recapture, the Berbers, the Almohades, the Independence War against the French and even the Barbaroja pirate himself, writings existed where dead soldiers who walked and fought battles appeared. They didn’t go precisely on horseback. Now, in century XXI, they still keep on walking, and they’re dead. Hins narrates the story during ten centuries with his own handwriting and Sebastian, a scholar, knows everything about him and what surrounded them all these centuries, from the walking dead, the red death, the rock men, even the yellow fever and the aberrations. A long story is told, about the cruelest, bloody, terrible and miserly moments, including beyond the walking dead. Infected is a zombies’ saga which sweeps among horror readers. It’s also translated into English.
