A child learns that every time he is grateful for something it builds his invisible gratitude tree and makes him stronger emotionally.

This edition is bilingual in both English and Thai. I appreciated the sentiment and like the idea of teaching kids about the power of being grateful. It also incorporates Christian elements which I like. However, I felt like both the text and design could have benefited from a round of editing. The text just meandered at times, repeated itself in unhelpful ways, and could have been much more concise and clear (especially if it is for a young audience). The text also was inconsistent in size because of the way it was spread out unevenly and the need to squeeze the Thai in too, which meant it sometimes was getting quite small. I'd give it a 2.5 so I'll round it up to 3.

"Thankfulness grows my invisible tree and thankfulness grows me."

We all have this invisible tree inside of us that grows more branches with each thankful thought. Each time that thankful thought is revisited, the branch grows bigger and stronger. Jesus is the one who made this tree and me too. Though the thankful thoughts do not take away the bad ones, they can be revisited in the hard times so that instead of grumbling, we can find peace.

The author's note in the back of the book shares how new neural pathways form with each new thought. When these thoughts are revisited, the neural pathways get stronger. Therefore, we can choose how our brains grow.
