Autobiography by Yakov Rapoport, one of the doctors targeted by Stalin in the often overlooked "Doctors' Plot" in which nine leading doctors (six of whom were Jewish) were falsely accused of killing off prominent Russian leaders. Rapoport was saved from certain execution only by the death of Stalin. The book also discusses the way that communist ideology twisted science in the USSR and often allowed flawed reasoning to prevail. 282 pages with index.
