After experiencing the shock of hypocrisy, legalism, infidelity, and many other soul-crushing experiences, Leah chose to leave the confines of the traditional church to find fulfillment and define true worship, spirituality, and love. Just when things appear to turn in her favor, Leah experiences yet another painful blow.
Both Leah and her sister Rebbie are blindsided by a terrible heart-wrenching secret that leaves both women dejected and in despair. Will these unfavorable events trigger an even greater attempt for Leah to detach from her former responsibilities to the church? Will she seek to repair the broken pieces of her life using crystals and other metaphysical practices?
This is book 3 and the finale of the “All Churched Out” series. Will the Pastor’s Wife finally become relieved of her soul weariness through the rest that is offered only under the shadows of the Almighty? The saga continues.

My Assessment: After reading books one and two, one can be assured that book three will put the icing on the cake. I am still determining to whom I feel sorrier...Leah or her sister Rebbie especially after their father passed. The reader will have to follow the story closely because there will be twists and turns everywhere. Leah's involvement with Chaka, Evander, Zane, Kyle, and Leah before the funeral, the family gathering during the funeral, the diary, the Epperson's, the church meeting with the board, [the big secret revealed], and the ending.
"All Churched Out: The Weary Wife of the Pastor-Book 3" series will leave one shaking their heads and saying wow...what a read. Is there a lesson to be learned from this excellent story? Yes! Please pick up all three of these reads to see how well this author brings up how the devil can enter one's life and after all is said and done, all [secrets] come tripling out in the end, and we get the whole truth.
This author gives the reader quite a read...as secrets come out, how will Leah, Rebbie, Kyle, and Aunt Zelle come out from all of this situation in the end. I don't want to tell too much more, but it was quite a blessing seeing the change and showing what can happen when God comes into the fold of it all.
To find out what comes to this story [and there will be a lot!]…the reader will have to pick up the novel to see how it all turns out, especially for Leah, Robbie, Kyle, aunt Zelle, Zane, and let's not leave out Shady Hill Church. That epilogue was quite a read about how things can turn around when God comes in and what a change is made for all involved in this story. So be ready for an excellent read of how God came through for these characters.
When we forgive others as God through Jesus forgave us........
This third book brought out for me the crux of all three stories i.e. getting to the point of forgiving oneself and others as God through Jesus has forgiven us and accepted us in the Beloved as sons and daughters! Yes these characters went through many trials and tribulations, periods of questioning their relationship with God and each other and one thing remained true God will never leave us nor forsake us! As regards the trials each character faced it brings to my mind the Scripture that says "those who live Godly shall suffer persecution" 2Timothy 3:12 KJV. Sitting under a man/woman of God who rightly divide the Word of truth is very important for every Born Again Believer! Thank you Mrs. Cook-Godfrey for reminding us in your stories that God is who we should completely trust and depend on to teach us how to traverse life in this temporary realm in which we currently live! To God Be The Glory, Amen!!!!!!!!!!!
Book three brings even more drama and secrets. In a grieving moment, Leah and Kyle briefly reconnect, much to the dismay of Evander. Meanwhile, Kyle is trying to right his wrongs…with his wife, his sister-in-law, the church and most importantly, God. But, why is someone trying to hurt him?
Leah and Rebbie have worked hard to repair their relationship, especially after finding out the many secrets that their father took to his grave. I loved the underlying theme of sisterhood and forgiveness. They understand that family comes first.
What I loved most about this book is the focus on unconventional methods of spirituality, and how they affect our body, mind and spirit. This is one of those taboo subjects that is rarely addressed, and hopefully someone is convicted while they are corrected. I knew that there was something about that Chaka that didn’t sick right in my spirit, and when she sided with Zane, it was confirmed. This is my favorite book of the series, and one I will recommend forever. My favorite character in this one is both Leah and Kyle. Their growth throughout this series is admirable. My least favorite character definitely goes to Zane. I understand his hurt and anger, but he went about everything all wrong.
This series was really a dynamic trio! I stumbled upon it and indulged to see what it was about. I thoroughly enjoyed the conclusion book as everything came full circle, and all answers were exposed. I particularly enjoyed the reality of the world to include the church as well. The numerous topics dare not be explored this author provided a deeper look into them, as well as she offered biblical teachings on each one. I appreciated the fact that this was about choices and the consequences faced despite the fact of being a believer. In addition, the cliché perfectionist of the church were exposed and dealt with accordingly. Each character had a position to play, and character growth was etched throughout the book. This was seriously a 5 star series that I am happy to have stumbled upon and highly recommend you check out. (There are errors that will have you reread some sentences.)
This last book (3rd) in the series had me on the edge of my seat, turning pages and returning to some pages I’d already read. I love some of the characters and others I wanted to punch. I love stories that evoke emotions and responses when I read them. I really, really recommend this series to other readers. I urge those who haven’t already to accept Jesus Christ as their savior and have a relationship with Him. He will certainly help you to know your assignment when church leaders are trying to place you where they want you to be or think you should be. Denise Cook-Godfrey, I have really enjoyed reading this series and I’ve also learned some things from it, thank you.
The finale of this book is romantic, dramatic and inspirational to know that Rebbie and Leah forgive each other . They research and found out their dad who was the Pastor was cheating and have a son who was perplexing the lives of his sister. Zane went rehab got better and apologize to his sister and Kyle for the accident he causes. Leah got pregnant had a boy she and Kyle went counselling and went back to be pastor of the church. Rebbie got married and had a baby girl. Leah became first lady and have a lot of people into the church from the false teaching she was in. Beautiful story.Love it
The story of Leah and Kyle covered some many topics of confusion in the present day church. The ups and downs of every day life coupled with navigating religious beliefs and its practicality was the full story. There were so many players in the story but as in life they were in they were there for “both a given reason and/or season. They faced many daunting challenges but God’s restoration was what persevered.
Again better editing of the book would be helpful and not cause confusion with the characters.
I absolutely enjoyed this whole series from book one to book three. Now I was hoping that they would seriously change the name of the Church lol. I was disappointed that they concentrated more on giving classes about the New Age(which is of the Occult) but not Adultery, Fornication, and Divorce which is what plagues the Church and Christians to this day. However all three books are five star reads and I highly highly recommend.
I was moderately okay with this book until the very end, despite it being very poorly written. Even though I am not a part of that community, I really dislike when people regard members of the LGBTQIA community as being "confused" or decide that their being queer is the result of some traumatic event, and I dislike it even more when they state that unsubstantiated OPINION as fact.
Denise, what a great series. Thank you for showing just what happens when you cover up things and when you follow man instead of God. I love your truthfulness when showing what sometimes happens from church hurt. Thank you allowing Leah to question why. This read is such a great lesson to me. It shows forgiveness, learning to love yourself, who to put your trust in. 🤗🤗🤗🤗
I wouldn't exactly classify this series as a thriller although it did have a bit of highly drawn out suspense. The book dragged for me, overemphasizing Leah's search for an alternative to Christianity. There was betrayal but also a lot of secrets which seemed forced, just like the ending.
I really enjoyed and loved this whole series, and highly recommend it. I know the Pepper son's had something to do with Zane, I thought he was there son. I never liked Chaka or Evander both I seen right through them. Very happy for Leah, Kyle, Rebbie and Aunt Zelle God will always prevail if we let Him.
This third novel in this series showed us how we can be restored as Christians. We are reminded how our mistakes and our secrets can tear our present state of being to pieces but the word of God is all powerful. I would recommend this book to those who have questions about New Age practices. I learned a lot.
This book series was very informative and expressed what people are giving through in Christian’s in churches always remember it is What you believe your faith and in God
Well, I thought the mother (Agatha) and Aunt Zelle were on the outs because Leah belonged to Aunt Zelle! I was wrong! It was the father who had an outside child (Zane) Glad Leah was able to overcome her insecurities and eventually reunited with her husband.
This really help me wit my spiritual walk and growth that I'm on been a female minister. So day my past hurt make me question God but I have surrounded myself with God fearing people that can help me with my questions
This was an exceptional series I loved all the characters who were well thought out and multidimensional I'm happy Leah at led to her purpose and calling five stars all the way sis
I enjoyed reading this series! I was able to relate to Leah character the most as she battled different trails and tribulations with her purpose of life. Recommend reading.
This is an amazing story that demonstrates love, forgiveness and restoration! Unveiling the truth about universal worship is relevant and needed! I love the stance of this book as it is entertaining and relatable!
This series was a really good read! I read the books within a few days. Definitely shed some light on New Age Practices & how they don't align with the Word of God.
I think this book is very judgmental on others. Leah was too much of a crybaby. Just not a good book sorry. Too boring to get to the plot and the characters are very weak!!
