Once you start the series You can't stop at just one book. You will be compelled to read more about Doris and her lovely husband Luke. They side characters are truly amazing and will make you laugh and cry. Yes cry!
I am hooked on this series . I love how even with all the struggles they had , nothing deterred from becoming a family by blood and by helping each other. Doris really grew into a woman to reckon with.
This book was about family not so much the ones you’re born into but about the ones you create and protect at all cost. Family, love and sacrifice was what I took away from this book.
Good storytelling. Good characters. A lot of killing of people who came to harm the family. Short, but the sequels keep me going. I’ve now read 3 of this author’s books
