Quirky. Funny. Strange. Creepy. Twilight Zoney. (Is that a thing?)
These are all words that have been used to describe the ten short stories contained in this first Postcards from Earth collection.
In reality, however, these tales are just little windows into the lives of ordinary people going about their daily routines. Little snapshots of time that could be happening out there every day all over the planet.
Just not our planet.
What would you do if you could travel back in time to fix one of your life’s greatest regrets? What if you could design software or a device that would allow you to visit a new world, or maybe even design a private world of your own?
What if it somehow ended up being your job to try and end an alien invasion? How would you react if you ran into a creature out of old seafaring tales? What would you say to an ancient god?
Turn the page and visit a while with Norm, Dan, Ray, Vivi, Doug, George, Jim, Bill, Caiti, and John as they try to figure it out.
Tom was born in the small town of Crisfield on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. He moved to Northern Virginia, where he worked as an engineer in the defense industry for forty years.
Now that he is retired, Tom is trying to recall the old stories and give them a voice.
Loved it! I don’t usually read fantasy or science fiction, but these were different, and they kept my attention! They are short-stories, and maybe that’s why I enjoyed them so much, because I could finish a story (volume ) during my lunch break. Each of the ten stories are totally different concepts, and they were quirky and far out there, almost like a Twilight Zone episode. Highly recommend!
Like individual pearls make a treasured necklace, each postcard tale shines to make a beautiful collection of wonder, what if, and if only. Highly recommend.
