I enjoyed being able to read Shaniece's back story. She is a character who Olivia befriended in In the Midst of the Storm.

This is the first book I have read by Latisha Sexton. And I loved it! My heart immediately went out to Shaniece and Jamar throughout the story. I laughed at Shaniece’s mannerisms and the funny parts of the story. I wanted to cry when Shaniece told Jamar about her past. I loved that Jamar treated Shaniece with respect and honor. I greatly appreciated how they kept God in the center of their relationship. This story has the perfect blend of clean, sweetness, and chemistry in the romance section!
I liked Karina since she reminded me of my sisters. HAHA! I loved the authenticity of the Green’s family dynamic. As someone who wants to have a big family one day, even through fostering and adoption, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
What is ironic is that I used to always say, “I don’t date jocks.” (Though not for the same reasons Shaniece had.) But this story was an amazing reminder that not all jocks are the same, and not to let your past experiences keep you from the amazing things God has for you. Who knows? Maybe the man God has for me to marry will be a jock. HAHA!

Read via EPub sent to Kindle. 4 stars.
I receive this free novella prequel from the author’s website. I wanted to read this before diving into book 1 of the In the Midst series.

It was a fun and romantic book dealing with some heavy subject matter as well. I liked this couple and their story.

This is a quick cute, heartwarming story that gives us the backstory of how Shaniece and Jamar met and of their relationship. Great characters, and Shaniece's backstory of her life will tug at your heart.

I loved this story. It may not be true of these characters, but in real life, it is. I was glad to read the story. Very insightful. I also know God can and does heal wounds and blesses us in many ways

I received this short story for free. The amount of trauma the main character has been through was over the top and too much to unpack in this tiny book.

Didn't realize when I started that this was a Christmas story. I love Shanice and Jamar's parts in the duology, but now that I know, I won't be reading this one.

I absolutely love this series, so I was thrilled when this short story was released! Short stories can be hit or miss for me, often leaving me wanting more, but this one was amazing. It had everything I was hoping for and more, and it was the perfect addition to the series. If you’re a fan of the series, you won’t be disappointed!🫶🏻
