Wow, there is so much to unpack here! Sydney! Yes you are responsible for your sisters disappearance! I don’t care how she felt, how young she is, I’m judging her. I would make her aware that nothing she did would make me stop loving her, but she is responsible for what happened. On top of that Sydney and her dad continued with their wrongful actions that they were doing when Haven disappeared. I’m sorry what! My son was missing for an hour because he decided to walk home instead of getting his narrow butt on the bus. I hopped in my car and drove around looking for him with my heart on the floor. These two out here just wildin’ and being selfish, two peas in a pod, like father like daughter lol.
Oh and Sydney storming off mad in a car that I bought her like she grown… No Mam give me the keys and take your grown ass to the bus stop. I know many will sympathize with her because she didn’t feel as loved by her parents as her sister, but she followed up by being more self involved which is what got them there in the first place. I knew no amount of Pepto-Bismol was going to cure that stomach ache. I can’t even with Rueben him and his daughter just smh.
Now Tracy, how you gonna date a cop for four years and then think when you get married that the way he does his job will change. He’s a cop, he is on call . When the age gap was brought up then I was like ahhh now it make sense.

Great Storyline

This was a well thought out story with several subplots. The title accurately fit what this family was enduring. When things seem perfect, sometimes it just takes one thing to go wrong for all the truths to come out and that's what happened here. I felt like the author hit the nail on the head with the characters' reactions and back stories. It was one agonizing, complicated mess that kept me engaged and the author brought it all to a beautiful end.
I didn't agree with how the parents handled Sydney or the details of the investigations but the subplots fit in with the story well. With another edit, this would be a five star read. Worthy of a download though, so don't miss out.

The agony!

The suspense was a ten, and the pace was good. To answer some of the questions, I don't think Melody and Rueben loved Haven more than Sydney. It was the sacrifice so Sydney could live the life she could and plus Sydney was a typical teenager being hardheaded. Forgiving infidelity is hard but to each its own. I thought Kade was a bad influence for Sydney too, but glad he turned his life around for them. I say do the crime, you do the time. But for real, Austin should have shot Allison in the arm or the leg, IJS !😄👏🏽. Job well done fellow author. I was thoroughly engaged with this story.

Great read.

The title of this book definitely described the story within. The agony this family is going through a lot of agony. With a missing child, the other child only thinking about herself. Thinking about what she wanted got her younger sister taken. The lies being told is causing problems in .ore then one household. This story definitely kept me reading and trying to solve themystery.

The writing style was a huge distraction for me. The conversation was unrealistic & a lot of the story was repetitive & wordy. The storyline kept me going. This was an ok read for me. I enjoyed wondering what happened to Haven & was actually surprised to find out who the culprit was.

So much happening at once!

Talk about family drama! This family's lives were in complete turmoil, and even the detective on the cases had his own personal drama. Great page turner
