I actually enjoyed this story a lot. Herc & Chauncey were instantly attracted to each other but they had to tie up their loose ends. Their exes were awful and turned out to be psychos. Lol. I loved how Chauncey cared for Herc and his family. It was cute.
Even thought both Her and Ce where in relationships when they first met it was funny how both knew they were settling in those relationships. This is the realest part of this story, many of us settle in relationships which never ends good when you try to force a relationship you know should end. Glad in the end everyone got their HEA
I really enjoyed this story this right here shows me what's meant for you will be for you... Because both of them were in relationship reveal that both of them were with ppl who I would consider snake 🐍 Chauncey boyfriend was not a man how do you denied your own child and never told her your married then got the Nevers to become psych be she dropped you ...
I kinda figured Herc ex's Zanze was no good especially when he said used be about hustle but because she got with him her hustle were never supposed to stop ok was surprised that her crazy would stop as soon as he said it was over ...Now she gone to...
Sad to see grandma Phyllis go You can tell she all 3 of her grandbabies But she had closer bond with the boys because she had them longest but you can see the love shine through her and Royce as well....
And like the friendship between the women but I had to keep one eye open on Layla for a minute But I bet she learned a lesson like Chauncey told just because a man Rich doesn't mean he's will be great for you humble real quick
I like this book. The storyline was on point. Herschel and Chauncey were a hot couple, their chemistry was of the chain. Zanez and Derrick were both delusional and crazy. I'm glad Layla, her oldest friend, wasn't in no sneak stuff, I thought it was gonna be some mess with her. My heart went out to them when Phyllis passed.
I just loved this book. It was so well put together. Filled with all kinds of different emotions. Beautiful ending. I would definitely like a book on the Neutralizer.
I love genuine love & thats what this book was about to me. The type of love that prevails no matter what is put in your path. If its meant to be it will happen and on no specific timeline. I think my favorite character was Phyllis. That old lady was hilarious and did not care how people took her. You can tell she did a great job with her grandkids & they loved her dearly. I also loved Herc & Ce together. They seemed to really balance each other out. Chaunceys' personality was so strong. She knew what she wanted and was determined to make it happen. Herc was also a real boss. I loved that he was hard core but didnt mind showing the soft, loving, vunerable side of him. But of course, with every good story there has to be a twist or those scenes that have you upset & wishing bodily harm or worse to a character..lol. Good job Shari B. This book held my attention & i finished it in one day.
This book had me tear up a few times and laughing it was a great read you will enjoy Get you a cup of tea or something and open this book you won’t be disappointed
Omg this book was so good Chauncey and Hercsh went through so much to get where they were. Phillis was a firecracker and funny. She loved Chauncey from the first day she was her. Zae and Derrick got what they deserved.
This story was just too good for me so I will most definitely be putting it out there so many can read and reviews, I can't wait to read more this Author you got me !!
This was a beautiful story and had me crying. It was good to see that Phyllis lived a good life and she got what she wanted. Derrick and Zanez had Karma coming for them
Wow!! What a way to start the year. I enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. Story flowed so well. Its not much i can say without giving anything away but go and read this book

They all lean on each other to get through...
Chauncey had no clue that her relationship with Derrick was built on lies. Although he didn't completely satisfy him sexually. Chauncey still chose to stay with him until she realize he was starting to move funny. Derrick should've known the two secrets he hidden wasn't going to stay hidden. His love for Chauncey was borderline obsessive being she wasn't usually the type of woman he was used to. Derrick was a bigger guy and being with Chauncey boosted his self confidence and ego. Alana purposely took advantage of the time Derrick spent with his son. She knew Derrick had a woman but didn't know who the woman was because he wouldn't allow Alana to know where he lived. Since Derrick refuse to get back with her. Alana decided to be petty. Derrick knew Chauncey was suspicious. Him blurting out part of what he was hiding. Cause Chauncey to pack her bags and end their relationship. Which cause Derrick to lose his damn mind. Zanez showed she was a lazy gold digging broad from the beginning of this book. Herc noticed the moment they got engaged. Zanez decided to not work or hustle. She feel like since her man was rich. She could sit back and shop until she drop but Herc started to get turned off. She was also using his money to give to her momma and he wasn't feeling that. Herc offered Zanez a quarter of a million dollars for her to start any business she wanted but her dumb ass didn't want to work. Zanez didn't do anything but turn him off and push him away. I laughed when Herc first met Chauncey. He wasn't expecting her to check him after he threatened her and was disrespectful but you could tell they were attracted to each other from the beginning. Herc tried his best to make his relationship with Zanez work but with her lack of ambition, him overhearing a conversation she had with her mother, along with his desire to have Chauncey. Herc found it easy to end him and Zanez relationship. Zanez couldn't handle Herc ending their engagement. Learning that Chauncey was the woman he ended up with. Sent Zanez over the edge. Derrick was definitely in his feelings and started stalking Chauncey. He did the unthinkable after finding out Herc was the person she was seeing. Herc grandmother Phyllis had me cracking up. She was hilarious and had no filter. Being diagnosed with Cancer a second time. I could tell that Phyllis quick wit and talking shyt to everybody was her defense mechanism Herc and his brother Everett was a emotional mess finding out their grandmother Cancer had returned and it was terminal. Chauncey had grew close to Phyllis and knew whenever she transitioned that Herc wasn't going to be able to handle it but she had his back. Finding out Chauncey was pregnant brought life back into Herc eyes somewhat. Witnessing his grandmother health declining broke his heart.
Shari B, great read. I enjoyed this read so much. Chauncey had a dream she was such a hustler she knew what she needed to do in order to make it. Chauncey never thought she was dealing with a deranged individual. Derrick was crazy on a whole different level. Women, please remember just because a person has money if your gut feel funny listen to it. Meeting Mrs. Scott Chauncey never thought how her life would change. Phyllis was a character in a half. She loved her family and she held a special place for Chauncey. Herschell, thought he had his whole situation together until meeting Chauncey. Chauncey, turned his world upside down without her even trying. Together they get through the stupid things that's brought to them. Surprisingly, their worlds are so smooth and happy, their love leads them to a life long togetherness.!🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Let's get the good things out first. Was this book entertaining? Yes, made me laugh at times, especially the feisty grandma (although at times, it was a bit much for all of that cussing for a woman that age). Phyllis' part of the story was extremely hard to read after losing a grandma recently. Her relationship with her grandchildren was nothing short of amazing and that I absolutely loved in this book. Although Herc and Chauncey got together and was able to get their lives on track, how they got together, I did not like and even worse that he got his ex fiancée Zanez killed. What he really wanted that woman to do? He took away her meal ticket. Sad af.
As hood as it could be, I hated the fact that Herc called women, hoes and bitches. Even when he went to get Chauncey when crazy Derrick kidnapped her. It was distasteful. Other than that, for a quick entertaining read, y'all could read it.
Went in with low expectations—and was pleasantly surprised.
Boo’d Up with a Hood Billionaire is a solid, entertaining Black romance that delivered more than I expected. The story was fun and easy to get into, with a main couple that had charm and just enough chemistry to keep me turning pages. It had the vibes I look for in a hood romance: confidence, flash, and heart.
That said, there were a few moments that felt a bit cringey or overdone, and I was definitely hoping for more in the spice department. The emotional connection was there, but the heat didn’t fully match the setup. Still, I appreciated the effort to give depth to the characters beyond just the relationship.
All in all, a decent read that exceeded my initial expectations. With a little more polish and steam, it could’ve gone from good to great.
I loved it. I just loved Phyllis, granny was gangsta wit it. There was this ball of sadness that stayed in the pit of my stomach for granny tho. I'm glad Herc had Ce to help him through his loss. If he was still with Zanez his mental would have been all messed up cause all she cared about was his money. I would have never guessed that Derrick was as crazy as he was. You knew he had to be a lil off to have hid his wife, whether they were together or not and a whole five yr old son for over a year. He should have thought of something other than kidnapping Ce for breaking up with him cause Herc wasn't coming up off her. I'm glad Herc finally was able to get pass his loss but with Ce by his side he's in good hands.💙💙
First book by this author and I must say I enjoyed this book. I will definitely read other stories by this author. I love Grandma Phyllis. She was a handful. I loved the relationship she had with her grandkids. Chauncey was good for Herschell. Derrick was crazy about Chauncey but he should have been honest about his son and wife. What about to the wife? Did anyone look for Derrick? Herc crazy ex Zanez was crazy along with her greedy mom. Did her momlook for her after her demise?Glad Chauncey began to have a bond with her parents.
Reading Herc and Chi story was a little crazy, because he wanted to choke her out at there first encounter. The grandma being a cancer survivor cutting a little deeper, especially when it returned at stage four. What I strongly dislike about your book is man and women referring to the female as a bitch, it wasn't nice in the past and it's still not nice are cool. I know it might not matter to you, because the young ladies today use bitch to describe themselves and they act like it's their name and it's all good. NOT
Wow I didn't think Phyllis would leave so soon I thought she would've at least went to the party but her time was coming Derrick was so stupid that wasn't a smart move that kidnapping didn't even last long Chauncey had a good man to come and save the day and give her a good life she needed even though they both had some crazy relationships going out good thing they got out of it
This author brought the heat with this story. It was crazy how Chauncey and Herschell's first interaction was a mixture of turned on and turned off. They both are hot headed and didn't take mess off no one. Phyllis is a whole vibe and I love her. This story displays how even the toughest person needs love and can find it in an unexpected package. I enjoyed this one and recommend reading it.
