Rate this book
This November 2022 issue (volume 50, issue 3) of Structure, Function, Integration (SFI) is full of information about the Rolfing® Structural Integration (SI) community in Europe. Read about the European Rolfing Association e.V. (ERA) based in Munich, Germany, and their regional associations including Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the UK, and Czechia. The Dr. Ida Rolf Institute® Europe has launched its curriculum redesign and new educational pathway to becoming a Certified Rolfer® in Europe. Also in this issue is a collection of articles about body image from a structural integration point of view, how the embodiment education delivered by Rolfers and Rolf Movement® practitioners includes accepting and caring about the shape and size of our form. The Fascia Insights column features an interview with researcher and surgeon Dr. Carla Stecco. The Letter from the Embryo returns as ERA faculty member Konrad Obermeier muses how cultural constructs have shaped our view and understanding of the human embryo over time. Plus, an overview of French Rolfer Hubert Godard’s tonic function model, a discussion of the overlap between Rolfing SI and yoga, a feature about one Rolf Movement Instructor’s path to teaching, and an Irish Rolfer’s view on understanding personality types. There is a lot to choose from in this SFI issue; buy a copy, have it in your office, and on your coffee table. Enjoy.
