New Testament Miracles: The 37 Miracles of Jesus
During His earthly ministry Jesus performed thousands of miracles. From curing all types of diseases, to calming a storm, to raising people from the dead, Jesus showed His power over and over again. The writers of the New Testament, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, recorded 37 specific miracles out of the thousands performed. These were selected to give us a better understanding of who Jesus is as well as demonstrate His power and authority. Each miracle has multiple lessons to teach and only by close examination can you see everything Jesus was attempting to teach his followers two thousand years ago, and today.
This book puts the 37 miracles of Jesus in chronological order. Each entry shows the scripture, where the miracle took place, and gives a commentary on the meaning and lessons of the miracle. There are also interesting facts inserted including archaeological discoveries that help put the miracle stories in a proper context. The text also examines possible contradictions in the miracle stories and shows these are not what they seem.
What more can we learn from Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead? Why did Jesus delay in performing miracles for some of those who asked? Get a new perspective on the accounts of all 37 miracles performed by Jesus. The miracles of the New Testament showed Jesus' power during His time on earth, and they still hold power for us today.

Read via audiobook.
It is so great that my first read of 2026 is not just a five-star read, but a book that helps me explore and deepen my faith. While Jesus performed more than 37 miracles, this book covers the main ones that are often seen as most relevant to his ministry. I’ll be honest I knew about half of these from my years in Catholic school, but the other half listed I didn’t know or just didn’t know much about specifically. What’s great is that the book goes into enough detail, but not painstakingly so. I really appreciate the factual breakdown of what happened during each miracle so the reader can understand why each miracle was meaningful and relevant. Additionally, some historical context and explanations are given so that the reader understands why this is considered a miracle (for example, the author talks about the diseases that were present during Jesus’ time, how they manifested and what the beliefs about the illnesses were (many were associated with demons) and the political situations are explained) all of this is absolutely essential to show the reader how certain beliefs and politics influenced and shaped the events in the Bible and by extension Christianity itself. On the whole, I found the book very informative and very well researched.
Now, I know a lot of people don’t hold my religious beliefs (which is fine because I respect every human being’s right to believe or not believe what they want), but this is a very well thought out text that I would recommend to everyone. For anyone who isn’t super familiar with Jesus’ ministry, this book provides an excellent breakdown of his top miracles. Anyone interested in exploring Christianity would definitely benefit from reading this.
Kevin McKinney writes a compelling narrative for sure. 5/5 stars!
