McKenna & Joyce arrive in Eden, Utah & then where McKenna & her Mom, Ellie live. Joyce tells her, “You really are way out in the country with no close neighbors. Joyce is a little afraid, but evenly makes it inside & when she gets inside & meets her aunt she thinks that Joyce is sister not her niece, so they go on letting her believe this if it keeps her calm & helps her remember. Then David a friend of Ellie’s who he had texted a few days ago & he hadn’t heard anything from so he was worried about her so he decided to stop by. Joyce had gone outside to check on something and she saw this man & she ask him what he was doing here & that’s what he told her. He wanted to know why she was there. They went inside because it was so cold outside & she told him why she was there. He also told her he was one of McKenna’s teachers & he needed to talk to her about McKenna school work & how she was skipping school & falling behind in her school work. She was normally an A student & she was really doing bad. Of course they both had lots of questions, but the biggest was what was going on with Ellie. Joyce tried to tell him what she knew & in the end he called his brother who is a dr. To find out the rest, you must get the book. I must warn you they always leave you with a cliff hanger so you need to read them in order. You won’t be disappointed!

I got this ARC book for free & I’m giving my review for free in my own words.

The story is getting very intense and emotional for Joyce as she gets closer to her aunt, Ellie. Ellie is getting her memory back in bits and pieces and is filling Joyce in on the family life Joyce's mom, Macey, had with their parents.

Story is very realistic and the drama that goes along with this storyline seems very real. Lots of unexpected twists with Ellie's memories. Looking forward to more from Kenna and David in the story. All very compassionate character and very likable.

Received an early copy for my honest and voluntary review.

Joyce accompanied McKenna home to check on her aunt Ellie. Suffering from amnesia Ellie mistakes Joyce (her niece) for Joyce’s mom Macey. Can the two work together to try to restore Ellie’s memory? A trip to the hospital doesn’t reveal a cause for the amnesia, so Ellie is sent home with medicine. What is the truth behind Ellie and Macey’s past?

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.

McKenna and Joyce arrive at her house. When McKenna takes Joyce to meet her Mom, Ellie mistakes Joyce for her mother. This was really good and adds to the mystery. There is a lot of information in this one about Ellie and Macey’s relationship. With a romantic element of Joyce meeting David. Can’t wait to see where this cliffhanger goes.

I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

No Looking Back

David came over. He was a next door neighbor to Ellie and McKenna. Joyce, niece of Ellie, was Macey in Ellie’s remembrance. David convinced Joyce a them a doctor should check Ellie. His brother came and she was taken to hospital for tests. More to come.

Continuing this series about Joyce and her cousin, McKenna, whom she just met. McKenna broker Joyce’s home in hopes that Joyce could help McKenna‘s mother a few towns away. Ellie, McKenna’s mother, fell and hit her head and is now suffering with amnesia.

Joyce decides to trust McKenna’s telling the truth about her aunt she never really knew and go with her back to her home. Ellie doesn’t remember Ellie and doesn’t believe that McKenna could be her daughter. But, Ellie believes that Joyce is her older sister, Macey. Joyce’s mother passed away when Joyce was young and is quite shocked to be mistaken for her mother.

It seems Ellie thinks she’s still young. Joyce runs into a man who’s been looking for Ellie. Joyce brings him in and McKenna freaks out because the man is one of her teachers. He insists on calling his brother who’s a surgeon and bring along a neurologist he knows well. Both come to check on Ellie and eventually convince Ellie to go to the hospital for more testing.

It’s after Ellie returns home that she begins to tell Joyce all about what it was like with Macey as her sister. At least until Ellie realizes there’s no way Macey can be there. Why can’t Ellie be there? What happened in the past that their relationship was covered up? Will Ellie get her memory back?

Book 2 is way more fast paced than Book 1. It creates a lot of curiosity! I give this book 5 out of 5 tiaras.
