Roberta Sigel was one of my graduate school instructors. The chapters from this book were part of our reading list for the course she taught in political socialization back in 1969 (how people come to learn about politics). The various chapters, written by different scholars, give a great sense of the "state of the art" at the time this was published. For an historical peek at the works of political socialization, this is a solid work.
