This was great!
I loved all the characters!
Keith was insane and I was happy to see him and Banks get what they deserve!
Nice to see Morales and Smith were promoted!
Epilogue was great!
And Smooch! What a good girl!
So enjoyable!
Could not put his one down.
Many late nights reading this.

Decent story- wouldn’t read again
Where to begin? I suppose with the good. It’s a decent story. Like reading The Day After Tomorrow but on crack. So that was interesting.
Other than that…. It took me forever to finish because I didn’t want to keep reading.
There were so many abrupt side stories that didn’t really fit.
Lots of winking going on in the beginning for some reason. Lots of growling throughout the books.
There was a weird and annoying tense change when it moved from most characters to what the President was doing- but that stopped at some point during the 6th or 7th book, I think, which made the earlier tense changes even more annoying.
Something I’ve noticed with a lot of these apocalypse books, including this series, is that a lot of it is word vomit with way too much detail. Not every noun needs 2-3 adjectives. You don’t need to use every synonym you can for one word- it’s okay to reuse words. Please stop using the word goons. If the author cut back most of the unnecessary words then it would have been easier to read and probably half the length.
The bad guys annoyed me- the main one survived things that he shouldn’t have survived (avoiding spoilers here) and that was basically where I lost the desire to finish, but unfortunately I have to know what happens at the end of books.
I’m glad I didn’t take the time to highlight/notate every ridiculous sentence or thought because then this review would be 10x as long.
There also seemed to be a small issue with geography early on in the book between Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
There’s also the question of timing throughout the book. One chapter they’re in central Mexico and then all of a sudden they’ve driven all the way to Panama but you don’t know how long it’s been. Same with the epilogue- there’s no frame of reference for how long it’s been - you can somewhat guess based on some things written(again, avoiding spoilers), but that’s not very accurate either.
It also took way too long to end everything. It was all dragged out far too long.
Make up your own mind about the books, this is just my own review with my own thoughts. As I said before- it’s a decent story, it’s just the unnecessary details bog it down.

A pretty good story and set of books.
Very believable story but the author should have had someone to proof the set who just might have set Mike straight.
1. Submarines cannot "snorkel" and fire up the diesel engine at any depth. (back in the 60's it was at a max of 60-65 ft deep I believe. Pretty close to the surface)
2. The U.S. Navy doesn't have Colonels.
3. Lieutenant 's don't take "Point" or buddy with an enlisted to retrieve a vehicle .
Other than that, it was a very good fiction novel.

Love the story line…
…this story is a different twist in the usual, “The world is coming to an end and people are crazy!” I really enjoyed reading this series. However, there are so many errors, and I know I didn’t see them all, that it was almost distracting from the story. It looks like the books were not even edited as some very simple mistakes were not corrected. Again, the story line was great!

Another great story
The story of the M’Nights is quite good.
One thing I didn’t like is that the vehicles rusted in a couple of days.
An obvious flaw.
The story over all of bad people in wrong places and holding wrong places in the army is how the story unfolded.
Read it and enjoy it

Great series,but....
I loved this book, loved the concept, plot and characters. The reason I couldn't give it five stars is it needs serious proofreading. There were numerous misspelled words, plot errors and weirdly constructed sentences. For me that was distracting. However, I would still highly recommend the series. Mike Kraus, if you need a proofreader, let me know lol.

Waaymto drawn out.
I struggled to finish an absurdly long, ridiculously drawn out story. The parts for me were either very good or extremely boring and I found myself flipping page after page to get to a "good" part. I got tired of the family being on one hand loving and sensitive and them flipping to become killers...weird.

ACTION PACKED
These 7 books kept me reading, I couldn’t put it down. I was engrossed in the story of the McKnights and their quest to save their family from freezing but I found the army manoeuvres and battles, particularly Tom’s backstory, a little long winded and didn’t really add to the story. Overall very good.

absolutely awesome science fiction book worth reading
This is an excellent book! I loved it! I would recommend it to anyone who likes to read science fiction or apocalyptic fiction books. This book is long, but I could not put it down. The book is filled with action and adventure and readers will fall in love with the characters as they get to know them.

Epic!
I enjoyed this series as much as the others I’ve read, written by this author.
My only complaint is there needs to be a lot of proofreading and editing for spelling and grammar. Even so it wasn’t bad enough to detract from a well written, rambunctious tale.

Holy Persute Batman!!
A rolling collection of characters come and go, some happily, some sadly, as the McNight family flee a relentless pursuit. The world is changing as the family seeks freedom.

Good storyline
Good storyline but hard to follow at times due to the constantly switching of subplots and characters. The book also needs an editor, plenty of misspelled words, and/or wrong words totally.

Suspenseful!
Just when you thought they were going to be OK and finally be safe, it’s a twist. I love the family aspect and know that life isn’t exactly like that but it should be. The closeness of the family.

Excellent
A truly good read. A sense of reality that could actually happen. A well thought out plot that held my interest. I could not put it down until completed.
Mr. Kraus thank you for sharing your gift with those who enjoy good books.

Thrilling from first to last
Another marvellous Survival Series from Mike Krause.
Wonderfully written with a gripping story line and characters you can’t help caring about.
Mike Kraus really is the king of post-apocalyptic survival novels.
I highly recommend this series.

This series was one gut wrenching episode after another. I couldn’t put it down for a minute with the suspense even keeping me up at night. I highly recommend this.

awesome reading.
This was an excellent series. It started to drag out a bit for a while but the introduction of new characters helped carry it through to the end.

Never know when
There wasn't anything I didn't like,
This is very intense read. It really gets into every possible or impossible things that can happen during an apocalypse.
