Well that was.....weird.... not bad weird, just almost funny weird. I initially thought this was a parody of sorts and kept saying to myself "yes it must be" and "no it's not". So many different songs were going through my head as I was reading this, "There's a new girl in Town", "Bewitched", She's cast a spell on me", all of these very apt I'll have you know, because there IS a new girl in Town, she HAS bewitched them and she definitely HAS cast a spell on Mark. He's in deep, very deep.

Let me begin from, well, the beginning. As I mentioned, a new gorgeously stunning girl shows up in Forestdale, all the guys want to be with her, all the girls want to BE her. But she catches Mark's attention and one thing leads to another, and bingo, they're a couple of sorts. Of sorts would be an easy explanation... Mark suddenly finds out witches ARE real, like holy moly, Marie is one! What follows is quite the concoction of love, hard truths, an evil Coven leader and a heck of a lot of gore, like seriously a LOT of gore!

I was a little befuddled with Marie's character, couldn't decide if she had any alterior motive but she appears genuine, I was just waiting for something neferious to pop up with her, but nope, she is as she appears, gorgeous, on the run and in love with Mark. I loved Mark's reaction to her and what befalls them both and believe me, a lot of real nasties! Thankfully, Mark and Marie prevail and give Silas exactly what he deserved, with a little help of course from magic and a demon. Oh, I didn't mention, yeah, Marie is a Witch... Now the threat is over, perhaps Mark and Marie can ride off into the sunset together, but I have suspicion that they're in for a heck of a time together! I'm hoping there'll be more to read soon, I'd love to see how much weirder it can get!

It is a fast paced action packed thrilling urban romantasy with funny and adorable characters, healthy dose of spice, a touch of horror, witches, and a villain who watches Game of Thrones 😆
The solid plot will reward you with a quick unfolding of events, magical battles, scheming, and plotting, and witchy rituals, in a small town settings.
Mark is an outcast in his small town Forestdale, a new girl arrives in town and naturally everyone starts taking interest in her. But it is Mark who catches the girl's eye and it changes everything in his life forever.
The writing is easy and flowing, and the chapters are short, that make it a quick read. The story was intruiging with solid and engaging plot, there were many twists and unforseen moments that kept my attention. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to all fantasy lovers who like to read fast paced short stories.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a free copy of this book. Whilst I received this book for free, all opinions remain unbiased and my own.

This was the perfect mix of spooky, spicy and fantasy. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and following the relationships and the development. The book itself was wholesome and I really enjoyed listening along to it. It is shorter at around 240 pages (although I did choose the audiobook). The audio was narrated really well.

The characters were fleshed out and I felt like the story really developed throughout book. I would definitely be interested to explore more from Michael again as I loved the formatting of this story!

The book proved to be an intriguing surprise, diverging from the typical focus of smut novels. While instant love and sudden power acquisition were elements that didn't quite resonate with me, I appreciated the unique approach that set this book apart from the usual smut genre conventions. There were still aspects that I found enjoyable, and the unexpected twists added a distinctive flavor to the overall experience.

This book was the right blend of witchy and spice. Then there is being stuck in a magical peril that you have to figure a way to get out of and not sure how it's gonna go and how it's gonna get end.
We follow Mark as he decides to befriend the newest girl in town, Marie. Now everybody in the town sees her as pretty much as an outsider but Mark decides he is going to take a chance and befriend her and they start to see a relationship grow and when he finds out that she's a witch he has no issues with it. That changes a bit when the head of the coven that she's escaped from is coming to find her and puts the whole town in danger to drag her back with him. They have to work together to figure out how they can work together to stop the evil that has come into town to save the town and find out the feelings they have for one another.

New Witch in Town by Michael Gregory II

3 ***

Pros: The story has a lot of potential. It's an action packed fast read. If you like magic, witches, super spicy, and action. You will enjoy this story

Cons: Very simply written. I feel that some of the fowl language wasn't necessary, and took away from the story. The two main characters kept calling each other by their first names, which got really annoying by the end. More attention needs to be paid to editing. There were a lot of missing words or words used incorrectly.

In a quaint little town, Mark is the resident outcast living on the fringes. A mysterious new girl blows into town, bringing her dark secrets with her. The locals are dying to know more about her, but they're too scared to approach. Not Mark, though - he's got guts, or maybe just a death wish. He strolls up to her in the grocery store and starts chatting like they're old pals.

This was a wickedly fun, quick read. I found myself hooked, constantly wondering what would happen next. I docked a star because the spicy content/situations felt unrealistic from a guy's perspective.

This book was so entertaining that I read it in a couple hours. It has bits of horror and spice with a touch of humor. Mark meets the girl of his dreams but didn’t realize the nightmare he was about to endure. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for different kind of witchy story. This author is now in my radar to follow his future books.

I loved the plot, however the way it was written wasn't great for me. Something about the first person perspective, along with the (mostly) present tense didn't really work for me.
In some ways it felt like the first half of the book, and the second half were 2 different books - the writing style seemed to change.

"New Witch in Town" by Michael Gregory II is a paranormal tale that weaves a mysterious atmosphere around the arrival of a new girl in the town of Forestdale. The story introduces us to a character with a dark secret, carrying a mysterious aura that captures the attention of the locals, especially Mark, the town outcast.

The plot revolves around the enigmatic newcomer who has made a promise she cannot keep, leading to a series of events that unleash mayhem and chaos upon Forestdale. The author successfully creates an atmosphere of magical magnetism and suspense that keeps the reader intrigued throughout the narrative.

While the premise is captivating, the execution falls short in certain aspects. The characters, including the protagonist Mark, lack depth and development, making it challenging to fully connect with their motivations. The pacing of the story, at times, feels rushed, leaving some plot points underexplored and unresolved.

Despite these drawbacks, "New Witch in Town" has its merits. The author's writing style is engaging, and the incorporation of magical elements adds an intriguing layer to the storyline. The novel has the potential to appeal to readers who enjoy paranormal mysteries with a touch of romance.

In conclusion, "New Witch in Town" is an entertaining paranormal read with an intriguing premise. While it may not be a standout in the genre, it offers an entertaining escape for those looking for a light and mystical story.

I received a free copy of this book via the BOOKLounge for Readers and Authors Facebook group, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I’ll start by saying, that this book was nothing like what I was expecting - in the best way! Michael’s ability to bring the story to life was absolutely amazing, I felt like I was right there in Forestdale! The descriptive writing draws you in and doesn’t let you go! The only thing I didn’t like about the book was the dialogue, which felt quite robotic at times and I found myself having to reread certain parts to get a complete understanding of their conversations.

At 141 pages, this took me 2 hours to read. I will read more by the author and really recommend it!

I listened to and reviewed New Witch in Town by Michael Gregory II. We follow Mark, living in a small town, who meets Marie, a mysterious girl who very recently moves into town. The locals seem wary of her but Mark decides that she is too beautiful to be wary of, so he has to talk to her. When the two hit it off and have quickly growing feelings for each other, he learns his mystery girl is a witch. A very powerful witch on the run from her evil coven. Mark knows his growing feelings for Marie are not false and he will do anything to help her, for them to be together.

I listened to this over audiobook, so it was actually pretty quick. I could see this more as a short story or novella with how fast the pacing moved. How quickly he kept the story moving along. It starts as a small town boy meets a newcomer, and quickly turns into the two falling in love, and fighting for their lives also with some spice. I think some of the scenes could have definitely used more detail; the book seemed to be mainly dialogue.

I did enjoy this but I wasn’t in love obsessed like other books I have read or listened to. It was definitely a refreshing read for something quick, quick enough that I would happily suggest it to others. Definitely something that can be read or listened to in a day. So, I would give this three stars. I did enjoy it and it is a cute quick read like I said, but I think it needs more content. More content as in to make me feel for the characters more instead of just something so quick I didn’t get invested enough in their story to make me want more. The story itself was good and I am so glad I got the chance to read this, thank you.
