Renee Royal is the Food and Beverage Director for the Royal Hotel brand, as well as acting head chef for their flagship location in New York. She’s also been in love with Dawson Hayes for the last five years. And she’s been catching flights and showing her feelings ever since he left for Europe to pursue his own culinary dreams. But three years have passed and she’s tired of the long distance. Can a Christmas visit get them back on track? Or will they have to walk away?
Ok, let me start by saying I do not like Gideon Royal. For a man who refers to his daughters as princesses he for sure treats them like paupers. Renee and Dawson love each other. We understand that from the beginning, which makes the change they experience feel so bad. We meet them when big changes are happening for them professionally. Renee is taking on a new role in the family business and Dawson gets an opportunity that he can’t pass up. A few years later they are not in the best space. The distance and overall lack of communication and honesty is really making things hard. It’s so bad that Renee allows her dad to make her question Dawson, thankfully those thoughts don’t linger long because Dawson shows up at the perfect time. This was a story about a couple trying to stay together and love each other but complicating everything by trying to be the hero and making big gestures without actually talking to each other. They do eventually get it together but I did want to shake them both at times. The Luchi/Mal aspect was surprising and I enjoyed that minor storyline. It blended in pretty perfectly, and I hope we get MORE from those two. I think I like Renee/Dawson more than Tash/Noah and I’m pretty sure I’m going to like the next Royal sister even more. Another winner from Shameka!!!
Foremost, Gideon Royal has selective amnesia. He annoys the heck out of me🤬‼️It doesn’t take a solar eclipse, to realize he’s taking advantage and manipulating his daughters to fortify the Royal brand. I’m curious to know if The Royal Hotel has capital investors. The needs to restructure the business to accommodate & or explore their individual/personal goals & desires. Thereafter, “Until You Come Back To Me” was a great story, romance journeys and a master class “just ask” (OK!to all my dragon slayers or wannabes 🤷🏾♀️😂🤣). …It read though like two books (Renee/Dawson & Luchi/Malachi) in one & a novella preview. Cool🤣😂‼️..Meanwhile, I’m looking forward to more Royal Blush 🫣🥰literary work from Shameka S. Erby💐👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿‼️
I’m not gonna hold you. But the short for Luchi and Mal is the best part. I’m giving that a solid 4 stars. Now as for Renee and Dawson well that wasn’t really my cup of tea. Dawson was great but Renee checked everyone of my pet peeves so I don’t exactly enjoy the story so much as I appreciated the writing and the storyline. So I felt like a 3 was a good compromise. But I was all the way here for the cubby girl love!
Loved these two stories in one and the men that did not play about their women especially not in the bedroom (and wherever else). Hot and steamy romance for grown folks. Definitely an enjoyable read and looking forward to Tamika’s story.
Until You Come Back To Me: A Royal Romance, to me, was just an OK story. I felt like Dawson and Renee storyline wasn't that interesting. Maybe a breakup because of the long distance and then getting back together storyline would have made it more interesting to me. I like Luchi and Mal's story better. I don't like the Gideon Royal's character at all. The hotel is his and his wife's Margie's passion, not their daughter's, and to have the expectation that they should work there not fall in love or pursue their dreams isn't fair to them.
I love love and I love when you know what you want and you do what you need to do to keep it. Renee and Dawson are relationship goals! Renee is a little spoiled, but she has every right to be. I love her family dynamic and how much they love each other and provide a safe space. Mal and Luchi was love at first sight and I love it! Mal was exactly what she needed and vice versa!
I thought was a contemporary romance at first. This book was enjoyable but Renee was really starting to get on my nerves with her over thinking things. I was like girl. Gideon was a little bit if a royal pain when he would come into the story. So all and all I really did like this storyline.
