After enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps at age 18, the author was assigned to G Battery, Third Battalion, Tenth Marines of the Second Marine Division as part of the Second Regimental Combat Team right out of boot camp. Bill's new assignment took him to the first American landing of WWII at Tulagi-Guadalcanal on August 7, 1942. He spent 33 months over seas and was engaged in six battles which will be covered in this book in fictional form.
