Mother/daughter authors Blythe and Calyn Daniel have written an excellent devotional for tween girls about how to find and nurture friendships. I wish I'd had a book like this when I was a tween! I remember feeling awkward and longing to fit in. "Let's Be Friends" discusses those feelings in an honest and authentic way.

The interactive chapters help girls process some of those feelings like fitting in, not comparing, or how to deal with rejection. At the end of a chapter, "Words for You" gives nuggets of wisdom followed by thoughtful questions a tween girl can journal about.

This is a fun book with lots of applications for growing friendships among tween girls. Best of all, "God says, 'That's my girl. She is my creation.'" I recommend this book for anyone who has a daughter, granddaughter or friend in this age group.

I love this book because reading Let's Be Friends as a tween would have saved me a lot of grief.

Daughter and mother writing team Calyn and Blythe are doing fantastic work to help prepare this generation for friendships that will last their entire lives. Blythe is a mom who remembers what it was like to be a tween, and Calyn is one, so she gets her readers.

Calyn believes girls need to know who they are in Christ, how to navigate friend groups—especially when they change—and how to not lose sight of who God has made them to be.

This book is about friendship, but what is so beautiful about this book is that it also shows that to have good friendships, we first need a relationship with God. The book is a beautiful devotional filled with action steps, conversation starters, and Scripture, and it provides places throughout the book for the reader to write their thoughts and prayers. Also in the book are some of Calyn's favorite recipes.
