The volume I have has the title "The Illustrated Guide" instead of " The Illustrated Encyclopedia." This book with its' many beautiful color photos on each page is a excellent place to start to learn about the history, schools of thought, jurisprudence, art, architecture, holidays, etc. of Islam. It's the best book I have read so far about the religion. This is not the narrow and corrupted view that is shown in the media, but a vast and highly interesting and surprising vista of the third of the Abrahamic faiths. This book is a must for the libraries of non-Muslims and Muslims alike.

The title on my copy is "The Complete Illustrated Guide to Islam".

Usually, when the date read is 1/1/xxxx, it means that I read it some time that year, but I don't know when. This time I actually finished it on that date.

I've read other books about Islam before, but this one, I think, gives me an idea of what it feels like to be a Muslim.
