I love this book “True genius 1001 quotes that will change your life” by Elizabeth Venstra.
The reason for this is because it shows a lot of foreshadowing, very little metaphors, a lot of character throughout the book and it’s a really good book to read, especially to get stronger mentally. Is a book about quotes there’s not really a main character, but people who are saying the quote and who the people are will be stated on who said what quote.
First, early in the book Ann Harris says “you are more than a human being, you are a human becoming.” Chapter 2(Venstra, page 46), this is showing foreshadowing like in life for a person like it’s foreshadowing what is to come for being a human being it is showing you what you are going to become what you could put your mind to.
Second, early in the book Babe Ruth says “never let the fear of striking out get in your way.” Chapter 3(Venstra, page 113), this is showing character in a human for an example kind of like a metaphor, maybe, but mainly showing character because it’s showing that if you fall to get back up and don’t be afraid to get back up and just keep going, that is what it’s telling you.
Thirdly, In the middle of the book, Zora Hurston says “I love myself when I’m laughing”. Chapter 5 (Venstra, page 183), this is showing me character because she’s saying that she loves herself when she’s laughing and that is showing that she loves who she is and it’s good to be who you are and you don’t have to hide it.
Furthermore, in the middle of the book, Dimitri Mitropolous says “success can corrupt, usefulness can only exalt.” Chapter 7 (Venstra, page 246), this is showing character in a person because you’re always trying to achieve something and you’re not doing so well or you’re already at the top and once you reach the top and had success that you can fail and everything will fail, but once you’re at the bottom, you can only go up from there.
Lastly, towards the end of the book, Kahlil Gibran says “you cannot judge any man beyond your knowledge of him, and how small is your knowledge.” Chapter 9 (Venstra, page 353), this is showing character in the book because it’s reminding yourself to never judge a book by its cover and to remember if you’re gonna judge something judge yourself first before comparing your life to it because not everyone is the same.
