This is an excellent resource for anyone attempting to understand the electricity business from a top down basis. It starts with discussing the results of deregulation on the field. It then discusses exactly how pricing is created, who some of the major players are and where they came from.

This book is ideal for someone who is investing in this area and needs this type of overview. It's also perfect for anyone who is in this industry and wants to better understand the various drivers, parts, players, and potential future.

While it's a bit of textbook, it's accessible and not boring.
