Geetika Saini is my new favorite poetess... For sure.
"Love, Lust, and Other Revelations" by Geetika Saini is a captivating collection of poems that delves into the complex tapestry of human emotions. Written over a span of more than seven years, these poems offer readers a glimpse into the author's thoughts, experiences, and deepest emotions. With a mix of free verse and poetic forms, Saini invites readers to embark on a creative journey filled with love, lust, and the blurred lines between reality and imagination.
One of the strengths of this collection is the author's ability to evoke vivid sensory experiences through her words. Whether it's through captivating descriptions or thought-provoking imagery, Saini's poetry engages the senses, allowing readers to see, taste, smell, touch, and hear the emotions she portrays. Each poem has its own unique voice and tone, creating a diverse range of emotions and themes to explore.
Saini's skillful use of language and wordplay is evident throughout the collection. The poems effortlessly flow, and the rhythm and cadence enhance the overall reading experience. Some poems transport readers to the realms of the author's imagination, while others paint vibrant pictures with concise and evocative language. The variety in style and subject matter keeps the reader engaged and intrigued.
As the title suggests, the exploration of love and lust is a recurring theme in this collection. Saini fearlessly delves into the complexities and nuances of these emotions, offering introspective and honest portrayals. The poems not only touch upon romantic love but also explore self-love, passion, and the yearning for connection. Through her words, the author prompts readers to reflect on their own experiences and interpretations of love and lust.
Moreover, "Love, Lust, and Other Revelations" blurs the boundaries between fact and fiction, fantasy and reality, and dreams and waking life. Saini's enigmatic style leaves room for interpretation, allowing readers to bring their own perspectives and emotions to the poems. This ambiguity adds a layer of intrigue and depth to the collection, inviting readers to decipher and engage with the underlying themes.
While some poems may resonate more deeply with individual readers than others, the overall quality and emotional impact of the collection make it a compelling read. It is a testament to the power of the written word and the ability of poetry to capture the essence of human experience.
In conclusion, "Love, Lust, and Other Revelations" is a captivating collection of poetry that invites readers on a journey through the depths of emotion. Geetika Saini's evocative language, diverse themes, and thought-provoking imagery make this collection a worthwhile exploration of love, lust, and the blurred lines of reality. If you appreciate the power of poetry to elicit strong emotions and provoke introspection, this book is a must-read.
The poetess begins by defining the difference between love and lust in her own quirky and practical way — and later delves deeper into the modern-day love and lust (lost) stories with her graceful and sensuous word play.
These poems, both byte and bit-sized, on love occupy one-third of the pages of this collection, because the situation and mood created for these romantic poetries are interesting, intimate, sinful and spiritual.
In the mid-portion, Ms Saini touches upon topics like beauty, dreams, magic, woman, and erotica (my favourite of course).
These poems are imaginative at its best, oozing loads of feminine and feministic juices and drenching and wetting the pages literally (no pun intended!)
The final stretch of this book deals with motivating topics such as loss, spirit, resurrection, and self-exploration.
These poetic verses serve as a quest to find the "true" you and your inner strength to fight it out, with hope and humility filled in to always remember that "we are all a speck of dust in a larger playground of cosmic galaxy".
The surprising yet cute topic doggo love is all about our paw-sitive and friendly four-legged fur companion. Indeed, a nice way to end this poetic experience.
What I loved about these poems are how the author blends the nature as a tool to convey her message in every way possible — be it monsoon rains, thunder storms or electrifying lightning.
"Love Lost and Other Revelations" by Geetika Saini is a captivating poetry book that beautifully explores the interplay between nature and human emotions. With a high use of personification, the poems create a vivid tapestry of emotions, evoking a range of feelings and experiences.
The initial poems in the book transport the reader into the world of monsoon and beautifully captured sceneries. Through eloquent descriptions, the author seamlessly intertwines nature with human experiences, creating a unique and enchanting atmosphere. The inclusion of quotes from famous personalities after each poem adds depth and resonance to the themes explored.
One of the key lessons conveyed throughout the collection is the idea that in life, we often encounter situations where taking risks and making choices is essential, even when we face losses. The poet reminds us that even in failure, valuable lessons can be found, shaping our growth and understanding of the world.
The complexity of human interactions is also brilliantly depicted in the poems. The power of perception and the influence of personal style on trends and fashion are explored, emphasizing the importance of true fashion emanating from within. The beauty of women is celebrated, delving into the captivating allure and contrasting qualities of both goofy and criminal beauty.
The themes of attraction, love, and desire are delicately woven throughout the poems, presenting a deep exploration of human relationships and the intensity of emotional connections. The verses depict moments of sensuality, sipping cocktails and mocktails, and the captivating dance between hot and cold sensations.
The collection also delves into the realm of dreams, highlighting their beauty and the potential they hold for leading the lives we desire. The poems emphasize the importance of magic and the determination to never give up on our dreams.
From the peacefulness found in solitude to the challenges and obstacles we encounter in life, the poems evoke a sense of inner strength and resilience. The loyalty of dogs towards their masters is also celebrated, adding a touch of warmth and companionship to the collection.
All-in-all, "Love Lost and Other Revelations" is a poetic journey that leaves a lasting impression. With its vivid imagery, thought-provoking themes, and heartfelt verses, this collection offers a rich tapestry of emotions, inspiring readers to embrace life's complexities and find beauty in every moment.
Love, lust, and other revelations - Love & Lust; every human being often stumbles upon these two terms. What one explores as love might be lust from the receiving end. The never-ending cycle of confusion, infatuation, and hallucination continues. What is love and how many forms of love are there? If you ask it any naive lover fallen in love completely can't answer it perfectly neither do the rest of the circle; the same goes for lust. One can't term love as feeling, emotion, choice, drive, or commitment; it is as confusing as that or the simplest of things that can happen to one. In search of meaning and a rational approach to everything, negligence takes over and sways it away. Eleven segments delve into different themes; poetic brilliance with the wordplay paints them with the truest and simplest form of human emotion and feelings. Even after getting this much praise the book still has some drawbacks that can be neglected considering it from a major viewpoint.
A few writeups felt a little bit lost tracked; musings that one writes unconsciously rather showed lacking mindfulness. The numbers of those writings are pretty low though. In the blurb it says all the writeups have been written for 7 years so it can be easily justified that the writings evolve over time; the writeups which felt like drawbacks might have been written in the early days of the writer's career; out of love or out of passion. The anthology has everything; from love to loss, from joy and passion to pain, myriad dreams and vivid pleasures to self-exploration; all placed under one roof - the human emotions, the body, and the soul. Humor, satire, metaphor, and cordial roleplay of words do the remaining job in the nano tales, musings, and poems.
Explore the sea of evolving human emotions with Love, lust, and other revelations; leaving you with an excerpt to read.
"Mesmerized by a shimmering silhouette I clasp the waist of an hourglass figurine Sprayed and showered in a scent of flowers and spices I inhale And she vanishes Leaving only a whiff of her presence In my fragrant daze The scent of a woman My only memory" - A bottle of perfume
Poetry - the art that possesses the ability to make your heart pound with the finest emotions; A craft that manages to express the most while using the least words! January 2024 edition got me the opportunity to read and share my take on Geetika Saini's Love, Lust, and Other Revelations. And I feel very glad to share that it has ignited the spark to write poetry, again!
This book is divided into 11 different themes that revolve around love. Each section has a varied count of poems that are specific to that respective section. The title particularly enticed me, and trust me the book lived up to what it promised in the title. I want to specifically appreciate the poetess, her poems thoroughly reflect her command over language and literature overall. Her noteworthy experience is visible in her poems. All the poems make an impression however, a few that kept lingering in my mind even after reading the whole book are A Tryst, One Fine Day, Eye See You, Just Sit With Me, Relief, Morning, The Best Minute, At Home, A Proposal, A Letter, Answered Prayers, A Kaleidoscope, Kintsukuroi. The way Geetika beautifully brings analogy in her poems is something I loved the most.
The cover is attractive and vibrant. Published with Notion Press and paperback version being priced at 249/-, this book is also available in Kindle version and makes a decent read for poetry lovers!

Love, Lust and Other Revelations: An Enchanted world of poetry

Review: Love, Lust and Other Revelations has a beautiful collections of poetries which is easy to understand who someone read poetry collection for the first time. Hats off to the author for making every poetry understandable and commendable.
Some of the poetry in this book may exploit the reader's perspective. That's the healthy one when it comes to playing with people minds. Because there's much to explore what the readers think when he or she reads the first line of these poems. A Tryst from this collection for example. Firstly the reader might lead to think that a couple are together in making love, but at the end, the tone shifts into something else (Just read this particular poetry piece, you'll get it).
Yet another thing which made this collection unique is carrying eroticism so beautiful and clean. Though the erotic poetries isn't suitable for children to read, the author dealt this segment well where the teenagers or aspiring poets to give a clear cut idea of how to conceive and write erotic poetries in a unique. Because, one thing is the poetries around this topic has no explicit words and yet seductive when it perceive. Another thing is, writing or speaking erotic relationship is taboo subject in reality. The author dealt this topic and crafted in a beautiful way. But the author sometimes exploits reader's perception in here too and that is very much unique in such a way.
Positive: 📖 Unique collections of poetries 📖 Beautiful choice of words and figures of speech 📖 Redefining erotic relationship in a beautiful way
Negative: 📖 Some lengthy poetries lags in poetic structure where it somewhat felt it was a prose.
WTB Favourites (From "Love, Lust and Other Relations by Geetika Saini): A Tryst, Music and Lyrics, Eye See You, To Slow Gentle Beginnings, Image Press, La La Land, Welcome To The Fight Club, Just a Human Being, Answered Prayers, The River Runs Red, Kintsukuroi, Going, Going, Gone.
Overall: Love, Lust and Other Revelations by Geetika Saini is an enchanted world of poetry and a worth reading every bit of poetries.

The book is divided into eleven chapters: Love, Beauty, Woman, Erotica, Dreams, Magic, Self-Exploration, Spirit, Loss, Resurrection, and Doggo Love. It is an indulgence of purposeful and determined poetic exploration and expression of how the spirit of Love becomes a passion in the author's craftsmanship and life. Typically, the interpretation of poetry is subjective because it relies heavily on the reader’s potential multitude of diverse evaluations of the reading that relate to their emotions and perspectives.
Being a music lover, I read her book from the perspective of the ballad form and rhythm that both music and poetry share. Naturally, I have an invariable infinity for poems as they evoke emotion through their semantic content. I was not disappointed. Saini’s poems are a collection of emotionally evocative and intellectually stimulating works. Her construction of the book into eleven chapters was not a coincidence. The chapter sequence has meaning and significance. The number eleven is considered a master number, meaning it has a unique vibration and a high spiritual and emotional noteworthy level. As each chapter unfolds, there is a heightened sense and connection to the author's intuition, humanity, and sensitivity. It is beautifully written.
One of her shortest poems, “Bleeding Love,” became my favorite because it evoked vivid imagery that accompanied powerful and relatable emotions, especially since I am an elderly person.
"I walked a long, thorny path. To finally rest in a velvety soft bed O, my crimson heart Thou art rosier than hold."
I would assume that writing poetry for the author was a form of self-expression, her descriptive interpretation of what love means, and avails a subjective form of poetry intended to express personal emotions and ideas.
Chapter four, Erotica, was particularly interesting from several viewpoints. Writing erotic poems allowed Author Geetika Saini to be provocative, to create interest, and to liberate her writings from the ordinary. This allowed her prose to explore the unexpected and place your imagination into unmentionable situations that do more than raise an eyebrow. They stimulate your sexual reverie. They were, undoubtedly, building my imagination with desire. It will influence readers to use their fascination to create a picture of what the words are describing. Well done!
“Human touch can say more than words can ever express.” -Geetika Saini.
Main takeaway: Geetika Saini's poems and “Flights of Fantasy” express her inner emotions about love in their rawest form. To make sense of how love affected her world, her place in it, and how important love is. She breathes life into each prose. Her collection of poems captures emotions with words, which is a challenging and commendable achievement.
Writing poems about Love in its purest form is an act of vulnerability. The presence of Love is interwoven in each poem, making this book memorable and heartfelt. Her book is a keepsake to read over and over again. I highly recommend it. -John Edwards

This interactive engagement with the reader's psyche adds layers of complexity and distinctiveness to the poetry.

While not intended for younger audiences, the author navigates this delicate subject with skill, providing aspiring poets and adolescents with valuable insights into crafting alluring yet tasteful erotic poetry. The subtlety in expressing intimate relationships is remarkable, eschewing explicit language while retaining a compelling allure.

Themes like love, loss, dreams and magic had an unending impact on me. I’m a regular poetry consumer and to me I found it very easy to connect with and very easy to understand so I feel even if you’re a beginner it would need much of your mind to find the meaning even though it’s also about wonderful assumptions and conclusions!
The book is a journey that’s filled with stories and colours, wine and blood all at once, indeed a wonderful collection that is definitely recommended! Go for it!

I am sharing one of my favorite lines from 'At Home'
Your smile Warms from a mile You are my relief You are my release When you pick me up My spirit soars...
When I am in your embrace I can reach for the stars When I am in your arms I finally Feel at home Home is where the heart is.
The poems I liked the most are ''Love, Erotica, Loss, and Spirit. There are more but instead of telling you everything I want you to buy this book and read your own. I think the author has a different writing style that you can sense while reading and that completely makes her unique from the others. But on the other hand, there are poetries that I did not like at all, it happened because I couldn't connect with them or maybe because I felt the same vibe from many poems that bored me and I lose grip on the book but the erotica part of the book was good.
Why to read: - To read if you are a poetry lover. - Read this book to feel the emotions that the author explores in the book.
I recommend it for those who are just starting their reading journey or those who already love reading poetry.
This book is way BETTER than other poetry books. It has poetries on many different topics, like Love, Women, Erotica, Self exploration etc. and I am very much interested into love and all that stuff, so I liked the poetry.
Poetry books speak for themselves, but this one - I'd love to speak here too. The poems felt personal. Like very personal. It felt as if I'm chatting with the author in a coffee shop and we're discussing life, love, lust, and similar stuff.
The book had a nice length and beautiful illustrations on the topic pages (total aesthetic vibes!) but I still cannot get enough of the author. This book is her debut, and I'd really be happy if we can support an Indian Female author today instead of buying foreign authors from Amazon. Give this read guys, i swear its better than all you've read.
