I bought 500 copies to distribute. It is a fantastic book that is true to the original scriptures. It gives the Biblical chapter and verse references alongside the chronological entries. The NLT is an easy to read option. That is valuable to the younger reader and it also leads to the readability making this similar to a novel in its format. My MIL of 85 greatly appreciated that while she knew all the New Testament stories she have never truly realized the order of the events. Don't buy this book, by dozens and hand them out!

This is such a great collaboration of intertwining the four gospels in one easy-to-understand telling from James Barlow. I loved how he outlined the idea that became this book in the introduction:

"Why in the world would four simple fishermen suddenly leave their families and their work without hesitation to blindly follow a man walking along the shore whom they didn't know? That question troubled me and likely has raised questions for many others upon reading Matthew 4:18-22. In his account, Matthew depicts these four men willing to leave everything behind after hearing Jesus' simple request: 'Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!'

The answer to this question suddenly came to me as I read the gospel of John, specifically John 1:29-51....My entire perspective changed on why they left and followed Jesus. I discovered background and context to the story that was not included in Matthew's account but could be learned by reading the Gospels collectively. That raised my curiosity level significantly as to whether there were other aspects of the individual Gospel accounts that might be confusing if not read within the perspective of the four Gospels as a whole."

Furthermore, he highlights that "this work is not a new revelation from God, unlike the words that comprise the Bible. God With Us is a distinctive narrative, or "telling," that was created by harmonizing the chronologically arranged text from the four Gospels-Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John (and a brief excerpt from the book of Acts)-as rendered in the New Living Translation (NLT).

This is a great book you can pick up and come back to again and again, especially for Easter and Christmas. It gives additional context and insight woven together and binds the historical context of when each event occurred, something I was a bit foggy about for the order of Jesus' miracles. Buy a copy and give it a try.

This book gives me a good clear picture on the 4 Gospels of the Bible so well. It was definitely worth the time.

This was a good chronological telling of the 4 Gospels written as one continuous story. I made some interesting connections I hadn't seen before when simply reading the Gospels one at a time.
