I think I finished this book in about 2 nights, or maybe it was one I can't remember. This book made me laugh, cry, chuckle, etc. A very good read. I wish I could have been alive at the time period he describes. Children are so restricterd and sheltered now a days. They are not care free anymore. This book to me teaches that there is nothing wrong with that. I think it makes a better adult in the end.

This poorly printed book belied the treasures inside. What a fun-filled romp through Cully Gage's carefree childhood! His ability of recall is nothing short of amazing. The Upper Peninsula of Michigan comes alive for the reader in both broad strokes and fine details. Storytelling at its finest.
