(From the Preface) - The aim of this book is to present the elements of the theory of partial differential equations in a form suitable for the use of students and research workers whose main interest in the subject lies in finding solutions of particular equations rather than in general theory.
This is a real gem of a book. The emphasis is on practical methods to solve partial differential equations. Thus, if you’re looking for more of the nitty gritty math theory, you may be disappointed here. However, if you’re like me, and you want an arsenal of tools at your disposal to tackle a wide range of partial differential equations that one often encounters when dealing with physical phenomena, then I’d highly recommended this book.
